Rare Behind the Scenes Videos from the Original Trilogy.

the making

Several excerpts from The Making of Star Wars eBook have been released. Also check out these long lost Return of the Jedi edits...

All three books The Making of Star Wars are now available in eBook form with bonus content, including around 30 minutes of rare behind the scenes videos, audio interviews, and additional art work.

The first video is...
...a previously unseen clip from the Lucasfilm archives. You can see Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher practicing their moves, doing the difficult scene flawlessly and then jumping ... onto a crash mat that was right in front of them.
Lucas has said that he wanted to cut the kiss, but his then-wife Marcia — one of the movie's three Academy Award-winning editors — persuaded him to keep it in. However, he did cut the rest of that line: "For luck. We're going to need it."

In the second video...
...Things occasionally got pretty hot on the set of the original "Star Wars" and, as our exclusive behind-the-scenes clip reveals, getting hit by Han Solo's blaster sometimes left more than just a hole in your armor. After one Stormtrooper's squib continues to burn after exploding in this take, stunt coordinator Peter Diamond rushes to the fallen stuntman after "cut" is called in order to blow out the flame like you would candles on a birthday cake.

In the video below shot on April 12, 1982 during filming on Return of the Jedi, we see Han Solo (Harrison Ford) calling Jabba the Hutt out as a “slimy piece of worm-eating filth” (a slight variation on the “worm-ridden filth” line from the film) while Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) warns the Hutt to “free us or die” as crew members look on. Reading Jabba’s lines are none other than ROTJ director Richard Marquand, who also shouts out orders to stuntman Dicky Beer, who plays Jabba’s skiff guard Barada. The scene ends with everyone — cast and crew — looking off and marveling at something in the distance while Harrison Ford informs a woman on the crew of his character’s current post-hibernation vision status: “George said I can see now. It’s blurry, but I can see.”

    2. I just made a small suspicion of mine public, don't die on me alright? I just thought (and I am speaking from previous experience) that announcements like that tend to... dissapoint. Maybe that was it, thought. Hope (and I am pretty sure I am) wrong.

  2. Can't wait to see what Darth Malgus says about the ressurection CD of Darth Vader for episode 7. Will he rise from his ashes on Endor, or will Darth Sidious as a ghost scream RISE to bring him back ?......
