Happy Anniversary to Disney, Lucasfilm and all the fans. October 30, 2012 will always be remembered as the day which brought us a new hope about the future of our favourite franchise. We're only hours away from the next Star Wars Wednesday tease. What will it be ...
Many people are disappointed at the level of news we got so far about the new movies. I think we've got enough. Just ask yourselves the question "what did we know on October 29 last year?" Absolutely nothing!
Now we have 6 new Star Wars movies announced. We know the producers, the director, the writers and the most important people from the crew about the first movie. We know the writers of the spin-off movies and the Episode 7 script was in development for a whole year.
Disney's steps so far in the Star Wars Universe really show a great desire to do things in the right way so that the fans will be mostly pleased. Are they going to celebrate the 1 year anniversary after the announcement with some official press release remains to be seen in the following hours.
The consecutive release of the three teasers from the Original Trilogy really suggested that something will happen today. Later Lucasfilm employees denied the rumors. I still believe that there will be some kind of an Episode 7 announcement. If I'm wrong at least we'll get the continuation of what it seems to be some kind of a viral campaign for the new movies.
I'll update this article constantly when something interesting is released today.
Any announcements should be expected before 5 pm EDT (11pm CET). That's because I believe Lucasfilm are also considering the UK's time zone. We all know the UK has a special place in the Star Wars production process.
So stay tuned...
It looks like we might even got some more rumors today. :)
@elmayimbe @Latinoreview would be real nice if you guys could drop a SW scoop tom since it's the 1 year anniv. of the #SWVII announcement :)

Maybe it's nothing but I like StarWars.com's front page image:
This McQuarrie art really screams "expectation". :)
While we're waiting here's an interesting Episode 7 tidbit from TFN member Frank_TJ_Mackey. Source: letapisrosedecatherine
Believe me or not, but I know at least one actor who auditioned for a role and he has been notified by the production that he did not get the role.
The actor was Francois Arnaud, who was rumoured as Christian in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey as well.
100% confirmed.....so I guess that it means somebody did get the role, since people are being notified.
Soon...
Star Wars has changed their FB cover photo. Always happens before an update/announcement... Should be about two hours now.

The new cover image of StarWars.com's Facebook page:
For all doubters: even if Lucasfilm doesn't have any intentions to release something today, they will. See the fuss on the web. It feels like New Year...
@MOVIELORD101 We have cool stuff planned every day.

One of Lucasfilm's:
A year ago today the world found out there would be new #StarWars movies. I'm still in shock.
— Matt Martin (@missingwords) October 30, 2013
Kind of makes you want to watch it all over again, right? http://t.co/WwB6793yTz

From Facebook:
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened...I see many posts from the comments section saying that Disney never said anything about an announcement on that day and that everything was just a speculation. OK, but why do you release the teaser trailers for Episode 4, 5 and 6 leading to the date when the Episode 7 announcement was made? Is this some kind of a joke, or just a coincidence? Or maybe something has changed? Whatever the case Disney/Lucasfilm failed to score some easy points with the fans today. They should have at least mentioned something about the anniversary.
So no announcements for the fans but they will surely release something about their shareholders before November 7 when is Disney's 2013 Earnings Results Webcast...
Maybe they'll announce more Ewok movies.
ReplyDeleteMore likely a Jar Jar spin-off movie.
DeleteAfter they announced they would be doing origin films, I figured a Jar Jar: Origins movie would be in line. They can show how he was banished from his home and everything...
DeletePlease no.
DeleteI was sarcastic. :)
DeleteJar Jar is my favourite character by far far
DeleteHeads would roll.
DeleteI was kidding as well, but you know damn well that it's "doable". Thank god we, the fans, spoke up about our dislike of Mr. Binks. Imagine if somehow nobody ever said they hated Jar Jar and Disney had no idea nobody wanted to see that film... Not that they would make his story a movie anyway, but you know.
DeleteHow can people hate Jar Jar?! He's awesome!
DeleteI'm 12 hours in front of you guys on the East coast of America. Guess I better ste the alarm clock.
ReplyDeleteIf there's no announcement or release of anything today - sadly I think that suggests production is in deep trouble :(
ReplyDeleteNothing...? again... again?
ReplyDeleteIt's too early. It should be in the next 9 hours.
Deleteguys it said HOURS, not an hour away, so by sometime today we will hear something
ReplyDeleteWant me to hold you to that promise?
Deleteim just excited as you. maybe im hoping to much :)
Deletelets hope for the best..
ReplyDeleteinteresting Douglas. You got your own trilogy . lol..... Relax fans. They not in any trouble or production isn't slowed down. We got a while before part 7 comes out. Some of you are just in too much of a hurry to know what the movie gonna be about. Don't you want to be surprised ?...
ReplyDeleteYes, we want to be surprised. But its like the day before x-mas, we want to look at the presents and maybe squeeze them a little :)
DeleteJar Jar as Jedi Master!
ReplyDeletePlease... Please... let there be something today! Give me anything! A render of a Star Destroyer... heck I'll take a picture of set construction. Seriously Disney/Lucas Film I'd be happy looking at set construction!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNice teaser idea. Would also like to hear Yoda's voice from Jedi telling Luke..."Pass on what you have learned!"
Delete^^^ YES. That could be included after the temples are shown and the screen fades to black and after the quote is finished, we see the revealed title of the film. AHHH I'm getting pissed just knowing that whatever information that comes out today will most likely be a disappointment... There's no point in getting my hopes up.
DeleteWell guys, either Ep VII teaser or Ep I teaser! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think anybody is even slightly interested in an Ep I teaser :-D
DeleteI am. Blows that theory.
Deleteblows that theory...? wasn't really a theory darling - I didn't put a lot of thought into it - more of an assumption that an Ep I teaser would be a devastating disappointment for thousands of SW fans who are eagerly hoping for ep 7 news
DeleteWell considering the fact that Episode I was made after VI, and considering the fact that Disney JUST released an official statement last week, you are stupid for awaiting an episode VII announcement today.
DeleteDopeyjoe, love that idea of a teaser trailer. Sorry to nitpick though - you're Luke & Yoda dialogue is from ESB not ROTJ.
ReplyDeleteLets hope,
Oh my gosh... You're absolutly right!!! I feel like a fool. Just watched Empire yesterday and all the excitement must be getting to me! Thanks for making that correction.
DeleteBest Episode VII teaser trailer:
ReplyDeleteFlashback to footage from ESB.
Yoda: "Will he finish what he begins?"
Luke: "I won't fail you... I'm not afraid"
The scene quickly turnes to a hooded figure walking through dense forest with a small astrodroid behind him. He pulls away a curtain of thick willow branches and as the sun casts its light over his face, we see Hammil with a beard, staring off with a deep hope in his eyes as the camera pans around him to reveal what it is he's gazing at; the Massassi temples on Ossus.
HOW DIFFICULT WOULD IT BE FOR THEM TO FILM SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS THAT FOR A TEASER? The fandom universe would erupt in ecstatic excitement and it'd be a perfect way to kick off the viral campaign for the new installment. They'd be satisfying both the OT fans and the younger generation.
That's better.
DeleteI totally with you on that one, i can see the footage inn my head already :)
DeleteI'm 41 (nearly 42) and can't believe how excited I feel. Just like a kid waiting for Empire to come out. Let's hope there's some news today
ReplyDeleteIm 40, (nearly 41) and I fell you buddy. The kid inside me has awoken, and he is very exited.
DeleteIve got a 8 year old son, and he`ll be 10 when (if) the movie comes out in 2015. I hop I can take him to the cinema and experience the same great feeling I had with my father back inn 1983, when we saw Return Of The Jedi together. My late father loved the Star Wars movies. And the thing that made those movies so special, was that they related not only to my generation back then, but to my parents generation as well. The prequels wasn't even close to that.
I remember it like it was yesterday - going to the cinema in 1977(78?) to see Star Wars with my late dad too - and him laughing at Han kicking Chewie down the garbage shoot. I don't hate the prequels, I just think that I was too old to appreciate them as Lucas intended (my young nephews loved them)
DeleteHate is a strong word, and I can't say I really hate the prequels, but they lacked the magic. Its like Lucas took them to seriously, and forgot the playfulness the original movies had.
DeleteBut, today is about looking forward, right? :)
Today is defo a day to look forward. Lets hope we get something.
DeleteYou right about prequels, too serious (except for Jar Jar - WTF!) lol
I'm 30 and I honestly can remember when I first saw a glimpse of one... I once I saw a really cool movie with giant beast like machines in the snow at my aunts house... when I was 4. So yeah Star Wars was pretty impactful lol... It wouldn't be for a few years later until I saw Empires when I was like... This! THIS IS THE MOVIE WITH THE ROBOTS IN THE SNOW!
DeleteLoved SW ever since and my Dad took me to the special edition theater releases.
Not a fan of the prequels at all... but as you said no sense dwelling on them. It's the future now! I really have high hopes for JJ and Disney.
My eldest brother took me to see SW in 77' or is it 78', I was 7 or 8 at that time and we been huge fans since. He would buy me SW merchandises that he comes across and built me SW model kits. Even in our adult life, SW was never far from our conversations.
DeleteHe won't be able to watch Ep7 with me when it premieres in 2015 because he became one with the Force early this year. I hope he will be watching it in a cinema in heaven. May the Force be with you, bro!
Ah man. Sorry to hear it he sounds like he was a great brother. Just remember all across the world you've got many more Force brothers!
DeleteWell, gotta go to sleep (here in Australia it's past midnight - Thur 31 Oct) so I guess I'll have to wait til I wake up later. Hard to sleep now. Anonymous - I feel the same, at 42 going on 43. No shame in that.
ReplyDeleteSTABILIZE YOUR REAR DEFLECTORS PEOPLE, THIS IS IT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING.
DeleteCUT THE CHATTER RED TWO!
DeleteTHEY'RE COMING IN TOO ....... SLOW !
ReplyDeleteStay on target, stay on target!
ReplyDeleteAwesome..
DeleteDon't mean to burst your expectation bubble, but there is going to be nothing. No news. Disney's official news was a few days ago when they announced "filming will be pushed back." Because apparently, Disney enjoys annoying Star Wars fans.
ReplyDeleteWhere did they say that "filming will be pushed back"? I've read their statement back to front and nowhere does it say filming is delayed. Nor does it state the script/screenplay is being rewritten. Lucas produced a treatment for ep 7, this was passed on to Arndt to flesh out the story. Once he'd done this he'd fullfilled his part of the deal. The script/screenplay was then handed on to JJ and Kasdan for some fine-tuning. Every movie goes through several drafts and the production time-frame allows for this.
DeleteRumors were the original plan was to start January 2014 but it is said at the official Star Wars site most recently that "Shooting is scheduled to begin Spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios for an expected 2015 release." -StarWars.com

oi you little s***, i clicked on your link, and had to restart my computer
DeleteI've got a bad feeling about this
ReplyDelete@ AnonymousOctober 30, 2013 at 5:52 PM
ReplyDeleteIt's when ppl like you say stuff like that that makes me sick. CAn't you be at least a bit excited??
Nothing is going to happen. I'm so sure of it! Nothing happened at d23. I doubt that there will be any "new" news.
ReplyDeleteD23 was so long ago, they didn't have enough figured out to "wow" the fans with any breaking news about the movie's development. At this point, there's plenty underway in production that they could let us know about. I'm just waiting for anything but more rumors. I'd consider it news.
Delete^don't mean to contradict you, but back in the time of D23, we had more info than we do now. Back then we had a definite release date (May 2015) and a definite screenwriter (Ardnt.) Now? We're not sure WHEN the darned thing is released, and we have no idea if Ardnt is cowriting or if he got fired or if JJ is doing rewrites of a complete overhaul, etc. etc.
DeleteAs the months have gone by, Episode VII is even foggier than it was.
I think there will be something the teaser trailers seem to indicate they have been working toward something
ReplyDeleteheres the new teaser guys!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktbhw0v186Q
That is awesome
DeleteYou sick human being...
Deleteyou guys are joking right. you sick sick people. dont click on that link. its a fake
ReplyDeleteBut it is awesome lol
Deletelol come on it was a JOKE! lol :p
DeleteI thought it was funny lol
DeleteFeeling like a black kid when they are in line for jordans.
ReplyDeleteA night at the Roxbury Will always be funny lol But seriously this news can't come soon enough
ReplyDeletewe will get something today I think... based on the Falcon FB cover update on the SW page... I think we are getting a Han/Luke/Leia casting confirmation... I wish it to be a few second teaser, but would be happy with just about anything at this point.
ReplyDeleteCome on Disney... throw us NERDS a little something
I am think the same thing about the original cast news ;) but for now we must wait
DeleteSpeak for yourself sir. I am a GEEK! :)
DeleteWhat's going on? I don't understand.
ReplyDeleteI heard Disney is planning on making some more Star Wars movies.... not sure though, just a rumor ;)
ReplyDeleteOk that sounds cool thankz
ReplyDeleteWhat is the time in USA right now? Here in Greece its 8.00 PM and I want to know how long will I have to stay up tonight
ReplyDeleteIt is 1:09 Central Standard Time.
DeletePM that is.
DeleteIt's 2:20 PM east coast right now.
DeleteBah... I mean 2:10... but by the time you read this I'll be correct lol.
Deletefans in europe probably have to stay up till 11/12 PM. The article said that before the time of 5 pm EDT/11pm CET (Central Europe Time) there would be some kind of annoucement. So we europe fans have to bear with it for some hours =3
DeleteThanks ppl.
DeleteI'm with you, man
DeleteNow in Europe it's 7 pm
South Europe, 8 pm.
DeleteRed Nerd Standing by
If there's no news by now, there won't be any news today.
DeleteBut what were you guys expecting? This is Disney we're talking about, the corporation who only spoils Marvel and Pixar fans. Sometimes I wonder why they even bought Lucasfilm. Oh wait, I know, the merchandise.
they just posted a re release trailer from episode iv. maybe they were building up to that moment. maybe they still will post something or maybe not ...
DeleteITS HAPPENING!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is?
DeleteWhat's happening?
DeleteOMG OMG OMG 2 HOURS TO GO!
ReplyDeleteSO hyperactive.... so..... nerdy......
I REGRET NOTHING!
I am in colorado and it is noon here
ReplyDeleteDisney have not stated anywhere that they are going to make an announcement today. It is just rumour and speculation started by sites like this.
ReplyDeleteDisney will release news when they are ready to do so.
So if you are living in Greece, Australia, UK or wherever, I wouldn't bother wasting your time waiting up expecting some big announcement that may not happen.
I fraking agree. There is going to be no "new" news today.
DeleteBut there might be you never know. I find it strange that they would release 3 teaser trailers from the original trilogy and then nothing lol
DeleteWell I chose to believe otherwise. It's in my programming ;)
Delete@starwars has something cool planned for everyday
ReplyDeleteJust like Luke's chance of surviving on Hoth were 725 to 1... so are ours to get some news today...
ReplyDeletebut you know what?...
Luke survived...
and we will get some news today
YOU MUST GO TO THE DAGOBAH SYSTEM

ReplyDeleteIm starting to lose hope now
ReplyDeleteSo am I...
Deleteeveryone go past to their Facebook!!!
ReplyDeleteThey're probably laughing their asses off watching the internet implode with anticipation.
ReplyDeletelol Seriously they know how badly we want it
DeleteJeremy Savage says, "The tears today when we get no news will flood facebook and cause the internet to short out thus causing a world-wide blackout."
ReplyDeleteBut just think about this soon we will be watching a new Star Wars 2 years isn't really that long.... Even though it feels like forever
ReplyDeleteNumb Renditions, by the time Star Wars 7 comes out I will be 27, with lots of stuff in my mind. I know it will feel forever but so does the feeling after a new SW movie be it good or bad. I think that of all the crap my generation has been exposed to all these years, this will actually be worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteIndeed I will be 28 when it comes out. I have been waiting since I was a kid for these movies I have seen Empire so many times I could write the script lol
DeleteStar Wars 7 will be the first star wars movie i will see in theaters. Now that's just plain exciting. Screw dvd star wars. I want my IMAX 3D Star Wars
ReplyDeleteI can't wait any longer!!! Where the hell is the ep 7 news?!?
ReplyDeleteIs it sad that I've been refreshing the SW facebook page all day for a new tease? I give up. Going to get some work done, and check back later, wasted too much time.
ReplyDeleteYeah me too. I'm starting to think nothing is going to happen today
Deletethey can go fuck themselves
ReplyDeleteJesus, man! Calm down!
DeleteFanboys are now getting unruly, how i love being a nerd.
ReplyDeleteHate leads to anger

DeleteStoopid Innerwebs...

ReplyDeletestand down fellow nerds, today is not our day
While we're waiting, check out the X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=14139
I gave up hope they would make a good X-men movie along time ago. What I do know is that no matter what episode VII will be better then this garbage movie.
DeleteI fraking knew this would happen. I just thought it would be an ep 1 trailer...
ReplyDeleteI've watched Star Wars 57,615 times! I don't need anymore old teasers!
ReplyDeleteLet me get back to work and go home to my dog another day of disappointment.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe every one got their hopes up. It was never confirmed that there would be a big announcement today. I hoped their would be, but I never put any faith in internet rumors. If they do something today, cool, I'm all for it. But this is probably it.
ReplyDeleteThey should have at least acknowledged the one year anniversary of acquisition. This day will never come again.
ReplyDeleteYou can all go about your business, move along, move along
ReplyDeleteDear Disney,
ReplyDeleteIf you are reading this right now, please note that Star Wars fans worldwide are very disappointed in the way you have handled the biggest franchise of all time.
Disney didn't have to do anything today. Everyone bought into the internet gossip about what may or may not happen today. Disney denied having anything today. And guess what? They were right. All the entitlement today is really ridiculous.
DeleteOf course they don't HAVE to do anything. But the way they pander to Marvel fanboys, you'd think they would address Star Wars fans, who are just as dedicated and patient.
DeleteWell we will know soon enough just got to be patient
ReplyDeleteThey could of re-released the Phantom Menace trailer. That would have given them another few weeks (AOTC, ROTS) before announcing something/anything about Episode 7. Is does kind of feel like there are problems with the pre-production. But, those things do happen. It's hard being a Star Wars fan. Just give us anything once a week...a picture of a shoe of an extra from the set...a picture of a door from a set...it doesn't even have to reveal anything...just little things like that will calm the anger and fuel the hope that this is going to work for ALL of us.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry - next week it will be the Star Wars Holiday Special in its entirety... November 6 cannot come quick enough!!!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie. Crushed... oh well. Some day... some day we will get some information. Hopefully before the movie comes out.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a buzz kill...
ReplyDeleteThe fact they are making it so secretive is very annoying. Give us the character layout and a name thats it. We dont need a synopsis just let us know the cast.
ReplyDeleteThis just doesn't make sence to me. Why didn't they release a ep 7 teaser? Maybe cast announcements? Title reveal? Something!!! It all made perfectly good sence!
ReplyDeletewhat if they did that to toy with us?? and that they are just about to release something??
ReplyDeleteWhat if they never intended to release anything at all today, and this was all just fan speculation?
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteThe best thing we could do, is to shut up. Stop writing, speculating, until Disney sees there is no insert anymore. Then they will panic, and release something. Right now, they have got us where they want us.
ReplyDeleteAgree, just like Nute Gunray says:
Delete"No use reporting something.. until there is something to report."
Maybe they just did this to piss us off. Then later today they will announce something
ReplyDeleteDon't get your hopes up. Disney has more things to worry about then fucking with the fan base. They said they weren't going to put anything out today. It was all just people buying into the rumors that had little to no evidence to their credibility.
DeleteUnfortunately for Kerot it is Star Wars and people are gonna keep talking even years after it is released lol. I think maybe we should get something by next spring but in till then just chill tomorrow is Halloween go carve a pumpkin or something lol
ReplyDeleteWe could all hope that within a couple of hours ESB and ROTJ will come out, then BAM!!! EP7 Announcement
ReplyDeletedisney twitter announces that there will be an update this week
ReplyDeleteLink?
Deletei tried putting the link on here, but couldnt. cant you just search for disney on twitter??? :)
DeleteI can't find that note from Disney
DeleteMickey, “Jingle Cruise,” Star Wars: Episode VII announcements, and more in this week’s news: http://bit.ly/1aFMjMi pic.twitter.com/74bd7ZWYrQ
DeleteNothing seems to come up at that link.
DeleteFound it, when you search on twitter look for "jingle cruise" and will say update soon....
DeleteThis week sounds good that is an announcement about an announcement lol
ReplyDelete"Ants in the Pants? Ants in the Pants?! ANTS IN THE PANTS!?!? You sonofaB!%&#!!!"
ReplyDeleteIt'd be really funny if they released another OT teaser trailer just to piss us all off and then released the real news on some date that no one's expecting. Perhaps news was scheduled to be released today, but the internet exploded with rumors when we figured out the weekly pattern they clearly established, and so they changed their gameplan. Perhaps this "viral campaign" is to be entirely based on shock factor and audience response. There are just too many possibilities. I think I'm putting far too much thought power into my hopes and expectations.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad day for Star Wars fans all over the world...
ReplyDeleteWe all got together today and hoped I say it was worth hoping for
ReplyDeleteit was like a new kind of hope
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see it has been a long time since I have seen so much SW love at one time. But will the SW Love strike back

DeleteEVERYONE!! DISLIKE THE VIDEO!!!
ReplyDeleteThe phrase "Kind of makes you want to watch it all over again, right?" makes me think that they are planning to either relase the ORIGINAL theatrical versions of the original trilogy on Blu-Ray or to theatres. Disney did say when they bought the rights that they would do the former. It's easy money, either way, for Disney. Don't ya think?
ReplyDeleteEver feel like you are being jerked around?
ReplyDeleteEveryday but never with such excitement lol

Deletein time...patience is required....but then again...I was hyped for news...I woke up, but sadly I don't see any news.., I'll sleep back
ReplyDeletePatience. The boy has no patience...
ReplyDeleteHe will learn patience
DeleteSure, Disney was releasing trailers. But it wasn't their fault that people were flipping their lids about it. They denied everything and yet people still want to go and make more rumors. Then when nothing happens it's Disney's fault. Really? I'm not defending Disney, because i'm very disappointedthat they've made some sub par Pixar movie lately and that there is no announcement today, but everyone is acting like entitled children. From the looks of it, the script isn't even finished yet, why can't you just be patient and quit believing every single rumor that comes out about this movie?
ReplyDeleteThey put out trailers for 4, 5, and 6 each week leading up to October 30th! It would make perfect sense for them to announce something today! I just don't know why they didn't. They could of announced thee title maybe! Something! It didn't have to be a trailer for ep 7
Delete"So no announcements for the fans but they will surely release something about their shareholders before November 7 when is Disney's 2013 Earnings Results Webcast... "
ReplyDeleteLike they did at D23?
If they cannot even figure out cast members within a year how on earth are going to bring this all together in the next year or so, goodness I could write you a pretty good idea and I am a nobody .......
ReplyDelete
