Few days ago Latino Review reported that according to their sources Saoirse Ronan have read for an unknown role in Episode 7. Now the actress herself confirmed that there was indeed an audition. Also LR revealed their latest rumor. The star of the sequel 300: Rise of an Empire Sullivan Stapleton has also read for a role in the upcoming movie...

Yeah, I did [audition for Star Wars Episode VII]… I don’t know whether I should have said that now! I mean, everyone did. Everyone has auditioned for it. So many people I know have gone in for the part I’ve gone in for, and guys who’ve gone in for a particular part, so I’d imagine J.J. is probably just scanning the earth to find the people that he needs.But nobody has a clue what it’s about, and nobody’s read the script. So I’ve gone in and read for it, but I have to say, I think it’s the only time I’ve ever thought, ‘You know what? Even if I don’t get it, I had so much fun auditioning, pretending to take out a lightsaber – out of a bag, kind of inspect it and not know what it is. That was… that was great. A lightsaber! Saoirse Ronan the 19-year-old Irish actress has confirmed to Sky News she has read for a part in the new Star Wars film. Later she tried to dodge the topic saying "so has everyone".
Considering Saoirse appearance many people think that she went for the role of Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter.
When questioned on the subject of the film by Sky News - she said bosses would "chop off her head with a light-sabre" if she revealed any more.
That kinda explains the lack of any Episode 7 news leaks. :)

Now according to Latino Review Sullivan Stapleton also has went in to read for another unknown role for the upcoming sequel.
And more interesting:
LR was also told that Stapleton was already talking about how he went in to read for the part and because of that, he got in a lot of trouble with his camp and from folks over at Lucasfilm. They were pretty irate with him.
LR sources also said the following about some recent news about the film.
Can’t really say anything more, but don’t believe reports that they’re not filming in New Mexico, and this IMAX thing is out of context.
Take this rumor as you like but have in mind that Latino Review had finally a confirmation of one of their Star Wars rumors.

It looks like Sullivan was wanted for Star Wars months ago:

I've seen her in Byzantium and The Host. She was good but it felt like the same character in two completely different roles. So take that for what you will. I wouldn't be against her but I feel like I know her to well already.
ReplyDeleteAs for Sully... I know him well from Strike Back. He's the cocky rogue type. I'm shocked he's being considered. I don't know what to think. He's great but I think I'll have trouble shaking his character from Strike Back out of my head.
I'm all for Saoirse, great talent, not too big of a star and she looks like a young Hamill if it's what they want her for

ReplyDeleteShe's good. I'd love if they kept her Irish accent. Although if she's the daugher of Han/Leia or Luke then presumably not. I'd prefer Ksenia Solo than saoirse, but she's good. I expect the role will go to somebody who we haven't heard rumours of though. They've probably auditioned at least 100 people for each role
