Yesterday Mark Hamill was at Rob Paulsen's Live show discussing his career as voice actor. Hit the jump for the whole 90 min. video. He looks better and better and funny as always...

Seriously I'll have really hard times seeing Hamill as a serious Jedi Master in Episode 7. :)
Note: There's nothing about Star Wars in the video, still it's very funny and Hamill is great. The quality is not very good and the stream might be slow but still it works.

Rock on Mark \m/
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is hard to tell from that video as it is shot some distance away from the stage, I think he's looking pretty healthy I guess for a man of his age, but there is still some more time left before shooting starts.
ReplyDeleteHe's wearing a different shirt!

ReplyDeletelooking good mark :)
Just seeing this and imagining him back in the role of Luke Skywalker amazes me. To think that the movies I saw as a little kid and have enjoyed all of these decades are continuing on...it just blows my mind when I stop and think about it. We get to revisit these characters we love so many years later portrayed by the same actors with no bad, old-person make up job. I'm just rambling, I know but all just really hit me when I saw Mark looking in passable Jedi shape.
ReplyDeleteI think he looks to be in fine shape for the role. Especially if Luke as an older man is envisioned by the filmmakers as more like Obi Wan in the original movie than like the "I can do everything except fly, and I can almost even do that!" superheroes that the Jedi were portrayed as in the PT.
ReplyDeleteNothing says that Luke needs to be bouncing around the set like a human superball. And hell, even if they decide to go that route (which I kinda hope they don't) they can just use CGI as they did with Christopher Lee in the PT films.
Either way, it looks to me like Mark is good to go.
I hope he is like old-ben, a wise old sage sporting the bath robes. Leave the young bouncy swashbuckling stuff to the new kids. Although now that Mark is in good shape I'd really like him to have a duel like old-ben did with vader.
DeleteOh, I definitely see him firing up the ol' saber and having at least one last big duel. In fact, I could even see Luke as having a reputation for rarely using his lightsaber (carrying on the theme from the throne room scenes in ROTJ) and it then being a pretty big deal when he finally does have that duel.
DeleteNo way. Forget the light sabers. I want to see Luke discharging lightning bolts from his fingers tips like Yoda, Palpatine or Doku...
DeleteAh, what? Are you trolling?
DeleteNo, of course not! I’m sorry if sounded like that. I just want to see Luke achieve a higher level as a Jedi, like Yoda. There is nothing wrong with that…
DeleteDEKKA129 - I agree. I think Luke having another epic lightsabre duel is virtually guaranteed. Possibly his first since defeating Vader in Ep 6. As u say, it would have so much more meaning if decades had passed since he last fired up his lightsabre in anger, a measure of how serious things have become. Epic and chilling and with a huge responsibilitu on his shoulders.
DeleteWhat is he holding in that second photo? And did he get all of his shirts from George Lucas?
ReplyDeleteNothing.
Deletehaha a python. ...and I thought the same thing about the shirts.
DeleteI think you missed the joke Viral.
Delete@ Julius
DeleteI got the joke about Lucas. I replied to the first sentence. Indeed it looks like he is holding something but he isn't. He is just holding his hands that way. :)
Is the joke that he is holding his hands near his crotch area?.. Because that is very mature of you.
DeleteJust needs someone to put a funny caption over that photo on Facebook, lol...
Delete"and mine is this big"
omfg joker laugh!!! 5:10-5:19
ReplyDeleteHe definitely looks the part of an old grizzled Jedi master. Hope he grows a beard.
