You will be able to post comments as anonymous, twitter, facebook, google + and wordpress. Is there any other option that you were using before that you would like us to implement? Please share your preferences in the comment section.
Also I was wondering what time to use for the comments you post. Everyone's local time or we can choose one particular time zone (i.e. UK) and all the comments will be under that time zone.
Will the URL still be as simple as "starwars7news.com"?
ReplyDeleteEverything will be the same. Actually some of you won't feel the difference.
DeleteI think you should use local time.
ReplyDeleteLocal time please, and if possible, adding diaspora* would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteLocal time
ReplyDeleteLocal time pls
ReplyDeleteGood luck in migrating!
Local time.
ReplyDeleteGreat news, VH! I know you've been wrestling with Blogspot issues for awhile now (I'm all too familiar with those from managing my own blogs!) and I hope the migration over to Wordpress makes things easier for you as well as for the rest of us mugs.
ReplyDeleteMy one suggestion, if it's even possible, is to set it up so that our "comment as" option doesn't reset after each post. I use the Name/URL option, as I have a specific handle I use here, and it gets rather cumbersome to have to select the "comment as" option each time I post so as to not end up posting under my real name (since I'm usually signed in to Google, Facebook, etc.)
If there's any way that we can select our Name/URL handles and have that choice persist for at least the duration of our visit to the blog, that would be a great help!
Other than that, best of luck with the move!
I'll see if we can add the Name/URL option again. By the way DEKKA can you send me an email. I want to ask you something else.
DeleteDone and done. ;^)
DeleteLocal time, please.
ReplyDeleteMake it GMT, or make a feature to detect the persons timezone.
ReplyDeleteYou can do that with this:
Deletehttp://stackoverflow.com/questions/13/determining-a-web-users-time-zone
GMT time would most likely be the most sensible.
ReplyDeleteIt's getting to the point that maybe a global "internet" time zone needs to be established.
ReplyDeleteI would actually prefer using a specific time zone. I think people would get confused on the order of comments if they used local time.
ReplyDeleteNY TIME!
ReplyDeleteSide note, you're doing a helluva job here Viral Hide! Your site has quickly become one of my first go-to's for star wars news. Here's to bigger and better things for you and the site as you transition.
I'd love to be able to choose my name manually. Just anonymous doesn't really interest me.
ReplyDeleteOr as mine is Pacific Time. Can that be work as well? Because I'm in the U.S. CA. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIf it is in local time, will the comments from people of other time zones be shown according to their local time, or to the readers' local time? If possible, I'd prefer the latter.
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer reader's local time too. It's easier to understand when someone replied to you.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comment service I often use Disqus, I think it's perfect for a site like this.
If you haven't heard of it here it is:
http://disqus.com/websites/
Already tried it. Too many issues. It was discussed before.
DeleteAbout the time zones - the comments will be displayed in the reader's local time.
Disqus is a good comment system. Too bad that there was some issues with it :\
DeleteLocal time. Up-voting and down-voting comments would be cool too. Keep up the good work Viral Hide
ReplyDeleteThank you to care about the readers :)
ReplyDeleteMy way to connect is name / URL !
Would be fantastic if you have it in wordpress.
Local time, please.
