Next month at the San Diego Comic-Con, Hot Wheels will unveil its new line of Star Wars-themed vehicles, the first of which, the Darth Vader car shown here, will be available for purchase at the show...
From roadandtrack:
Star Wars is coming to Hot Wheels, and the full line of new die-casts will be unveiled next month at the San Diego Comic-Con. Hot Wheels just teased the big announcement on Twitter:
Guess what’s inside this Star Wars & Hot Wheels #SDCC package! All will be revealed in Star Wars Insider #150 on 6/10 pic.twitter.com/O6sT4uyltj
— Hot Wheels (@Hot_Wheels) June 5, 2014
But you don't need to wait until June 10 for issue #150 of Star Wars Insider magazine to hit local comic shops or bookstores. Subscribers have it now, and a friend sent us the photos you see here. That's the Darth Vader car that will be shown at Comic-Con as a life-size, street-legal, one-off custom build. The toy version of it is what show attendees will be able to buy on-site in the black box that Hot Wheels tweeted.
The die-cast car comes packaged in a display case shaped like Vader's lightsaber:
In the Star Wars Insider interview, Mattel Vice President Jean Gomes says that in addition to a variety of Star Wars Hot Wheels, the lineup will include character-inspired originals like the Vader car, traditional cars wearing Star Wars decos, as well as a line of die-cast versions of the actual vehicles from the Star Wars universe. The full range will be shown at the Comic-Con Hot Wheels display.

ReplyDeleteThanks! Looks pretty cool.
DeleteWant!
ReplyDeleteI confess my first thought would probably be "Batmobile" rather than "Vadermobile".
ReplyDeleteWhat I was thinking...
DeleteI hope "... and other vehicles" includes TIE Fighters.
ReplyDeletePLEASE stick to just Episode 7 news. It's why I come here, and you're making me and others want to go elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteNot me. Keep that stupid crap coming! It helps keep me entertained while I pass the time waiting for VII...
DeleteSpeaking of which, is it time for my next scheduled feeding, Doctor...? ^_^
Jesus, some people need to get a life and stop complaining! If this blog were silent for days at a time because of a lack of genuine new Episode VII information, far more people would drift away and stop visiting. You're doing a great job Viral and team, keep up the good work!

^ This guy gets it.
DeleteYeah cause every single minute of every day there is new news... How much info did you get on Star Trek the year before release? the leaks are proof Disney is incapable of handling this franchise! The fact they just made former Disney exec a member of LFL is bad news for LFL!... The best part about these films is the rampant speculation of things leading up to the films. some times we get legit info sometimes we get stuff so out there you have to laugh! if your new to the filming of these as in were not around when episode 3 was being filmed STFU and go back to suckling the teet!
DeleteOk who do I hand my money to and when can I expect delivery?
