I just hope the Ford injury is the worst that happens. Hope from here on out ,the movie making does well and no more bad news. And whomever wins the prize for this contest, hopefully that person gets to say one word in the movie. lol
No, I have a feeling that the worst is yet to come, especially after you guys see the finished product. Hardcore Star Wars fans have a tendency to overly criticize their beloved franchise, I've noticed.
The Prequels could have been a smart tale of political intrique in addition to the Darth Vader tale. Unfortunately Lawrence Kasdan didn't write the scripts. :(
The prequels deserved critisism. This movie has absolutly everything going for it. There's not a single contributing factor that could invoke the misery brought on by the PT.
Hardcore Star Wars fans have a tendency to overly criticize their beloved franchise, you've noticed? Good lord, tell me about it! At least if they don't like this one, they can't demonize George Lucas for it! Well, not as much anyway. You know, I'm not an especially big fan of Alien 3 or 4, but I don't go on fan sites, complaining about them endlessly! My best advice is to embrace the aspects you like, make peace with what you don't and, if you still don't like the films, then move on to something else! If I'd hated the last three of four Star Wars films, I probably wouldn't be hanging around on fan sites, eager for info on the next one.
It's just a shame that Lucas didn't continue with Episode 7 in the late 80's instead of the back story for Darth Vader which didn't really need to be told. Sometimes it's nice not to know...
Actually, I think it's brilliant that we pick up the story when Luke, Leia, and Han really ARE 30 years older! Had Lucas stuck to his original "every three years" schedule, it would have been nice in many ways but we would have had episode 7 in 1995, only 12 years after Jedi, and they'd have had to age everyone a bit. Of course, it is interesting to wonder how different the prequels would have been if they'd come out in '86, '89, and '92, thirteen years earlier than they ultimately did. George probably wouldn't have directed. Maybe Spielberg would have tackled Episode 1 as he once stated an interest in doing. Anyway, I think Episode 7 coming out now will work out just fine.
That moment when you win and get to be in SW7

DeleteSorry, I meant the last three OR four Star Wars films, although I haven't seen that many people on this site bashing Return of the Jedi.

DeleteWas the first guy's t-shirt supposed to be a "funny" shirt? Star Wars #1 fan with the U.S.S. Enterprise on the front.
ReplyDeleteThat IS pretty funny!
DeleteActually, I saw him on a panel of R2 builders a month or two back at Wondercon. He's a really cool guy!
