IGN reached out to Dark Horse for comment, who responded with this statement from president Mike Richardson:
"Dark Horse and LucasFilm have a strong partnership which spans over 20 years, and has produced multiple characters and story lines which are now part of the Star Wars lore. Star Wars will be with us for the near future. Obviously, this deal changes the landscape, so we'll all have to see what it means for the future.""To me, that sounds like things will be changing at Dark Horse in terms of Star Wars. With Disney now owning Marvel and Star Wars, it's possible that Marvel could once again take on the publishing of Star Wars material. When Disney bought Marvel, the Disney/Pixar properties that had comics being published by Boom! Studios eventually reverted to Marvel, so it's likely the same thing will happen here."
