John Williams Hopes to Return for the New Trilogy!

Last week, a member of the John Williams Fan Network attended a concert conducted by Williams and here is what the composer said before playing the Star Wars theme:

“We’re about to play Star Wars [audience interrupts with cheers] and each time we play it, I’m reminded of the first time we played it decades ago. Neither I, nor George, nor anyone else involved thought this would go far or in a few years there would be a sequel and I’d have to revisit the themes…and years later another trilogy. Now we’re hearing of a new set of movies coming in 2015, 2016…so I need to make sure I’m still ready to go in a few years for what I hope would be continued work with George…[more cheers].”

Williams is now 81 and many people thought that his return to the saga is questionable. Also J.J. Abrams has worked almost exclusively with Michael Giacchino on most of his movies. So is it possible that they both could work together for the upcoming trilogy? Unlikely. Although Giacchino is a pretty good composer the Star Wars movies won't be the same without Williams. Considering what Williams said it looks like he doesn't know much about the new movies. He thinks that Lucas is involved and he is uncertain about the release date. This can only means that no one has contacted him for the new movies.
