Visceral Studio (Dead Space Games) Starts Working on a Next-Gen Star Wars Game.

EA studio team Visceral (Dead Space games) has started hiring for their upcoming Star Wars game. The published listing for a senior designer revealed some tiny hints of what to expect from the game...

Senior Game Designer – Star Wars:

EA's Visceral studio is looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer to help lead the design and guide a pre-vis team currently in concept phase on a Next-Gen Star Wars title.

You’ll be joining a new team within Visceral that is in the earliest concepting phase of game development. We are looking for a start-up oriented designer whose breadth, versatility and ability to operate strategically and tactically, at ground level and at the highest level will allow us to create and concept our vision, and also execute aggressively against that vision. All of our team members will have to be able to shift quickly and flexibly, and assume new roles and responsibilities as we grow and change. We’re looking for a well-rounded innovators who thrive in the dynamic environment that new game creation demands.

Some more requirements that could tell us something about the game:
  • Help lead the game design on a next-gen HD Star Wars console title 
  • Excellent grasp of level design: scripting, laying out combat spaces, combining core mechanics into fun sequences
  • Artistic skills a plus – have an eye for good layouts and scene composition
  • Experience of taking a game from concept to completion
  • Passion for Star Wars! 


  1. I'm more excited for this game than I am the DICE LA game. Mainly because I feel this one will be more adventurous in gameplay. Somewhat like an Uncharted while the DICE game will likely be an FPS or Third person shooter.

    Either way I'm still happy Star Wars games are coming sooner than later.

    I just wonder when or if we will ever see a flight combat game. I'd take Rogue Squadron or X-Wing over any other game.

  2. I hope they use the same bunch of designers for the new SW games. Dead Space, tho not my cup of tea but I really like the costume and helmet designs which I think are uber cool!

    I agreed that they should bring back X-Wing or Rogue Squadron..., KOTOR maybe?

  4. Id prefer a more up to date sw kotor game enhanced graphics more force powers both light and dark brand new customisation options to give your character the best you can think of being able to muster an army across the galaxy to wipe out the sith once again
