Chloe Grace Moretz Would Kill to be in Star Wars: Episode 7.

After the rumors that Star Wars: Episode 7 will have a female lead, many fans started to speculate that Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass, Hugo, Carrie) would be perfect for the role. Read what she had to say about this after the jump...

The rumors for a female lead in Episode 7 started a few months ago from several different sources. The idea was to attract the female part of the audience to the movie.
Before J.J. Abrams was hired to direct the movie it was revealed that Kathleen Kennedy spoke with several other directors. One of them - Matthew Vaughn openly pitched to have Chloe in the lead role.
Also one of the characters from the leaked Episode 7 casting list was a girl in her "late teens, tough, smart and physically fit" which perfectly fits with Chloe's appearance.
While Chloe was promoting her latest movie Kick Ass 2 she was asked by MTV if she is interested to be part of the upcoming Star Wars movie. Here's what she answered:

Personally I'm not a big fan of the actress and would prefer to see another less popular young talent.
We expect to hear some official casting announcements at Disney's D23 Expo from Agust 9- 11 so stay tuned...

  1. I love her as an actress and most of her work... However to me she's already far to "known" in my book. Which is strange because I don't feel that way about Ryan Gosling who's way more famous...

Anyway I wouldn't be upset or think it's ruined it if turned out to be true. Just not my idea of where the casting should be going.

  3. Chloƫ Grace Moretz would be a perfect breath of fresh air to the whole Star Wars Universe.

She has the years of experience as an actress, an understanding of her craft beyond her years, the charisma and aura of a Jedi or Sith and the wisdom of Yoda.

She has proven to be worthy of a leading role in Star Wars by the depth of her understanding of an emotional character, like Abby from Let Me In, but also very capable of bringing powerful action to the table via her role as Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass.

In short, Chloƫ would be just what Star Wars needs to revive the old magic - not to mention she would look totally awesome with a pink lightsaber!

Nice top picture. Too bad you cut off the #chloe4starwars tag :)

  6. Eh, if it's gonna follow the real story which was written as a canon sequel to the movies in the books, no way it's going to have a female lead.

  8. I would love to see her, although normally I'm more on the side of agreeing that less popular actors/actresses should be in Star Wars. She's a great actress!
