Coming this fall, the power of the Force comes home when the original and prequel Star Wars trilogies are released in the US in Blu-ray/DVD combo packs on October 8, 2013.
The prequel trilogy (including Blu-ray and DVD versions of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) and original trilogy (including Blu-ray and DVD versions of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) collections will feature brand new cover artwork created exclusively for this release.
Internationally, DVD-only trilogies will be available.

  1. I was so so hoping you were going to say original theatrical versions for 4,5 and 6. Unaltered. Do this Disney and I will gladly buy them again.

    1. Actually it's pretty much THE most important thing to happen to the originals. How is it so hard to grasp that we want to watch the films that became a phenomenon.

It's not like they changed a few aspects... they gutted some key scenes that effected entire themes of the show. Plus some of them were nonsensical.

So yeah... I'll never stop wanting the originals. on Blu-Ray.

  6. It's weird that Indiana Jones and Star Wars, two of the most beloved and most watched movie franchises, have not had really good DVD releases.

They're always short on extras, or the picture is off for one reason or another, or there's some other issues.
