Harrison Ford Denies Any Involvement With Star Wars 7.

harrison ford

Harrison Ford is in Paris promoting his new movie Ender's Game. He gave several interviews to the local press and answered few questions regarding the new Star Wars movies...

Although some of the local press reported that Ford denied any involvement with the movie and that he will not play in Star Wars: Episode 7 "disappointing many fans", here are his actual words which doesn't sound that extreme:

"[For the previous SW movies first] I have signed for a single film. Then I was asked to do three, but I refused the offer. Then for each episode I felt their own qualities and analyzed what each component could bring me. This is how I ended up playing in all three films. For now, we have not officially announced that I will play in a fourth. I've also never thought I'd do it......... We'll see..."

Asked later by Le Figaro on his possible return in the seventh part of Star Wars, the actor quickly cut the conversation short:

"I do not feel free to talk about it with you now, ...because. Just because ... Have you noticed lately that the politicians do not stop making this style of response? "Because" That's it. So, I decided to do the same. It is so convenient ... " (Laughter.)
Here's a video with one of the questions:

Well obviously this is not an actual denial but it looks like the original cast still haven't signed any contracts as previous reports also suggested. I wonder what are they waiting for. The script is ready or almost ready and it should be clear by now if they'll need the services of the original cast or not. I'm sure we'll find out pretty soon...

By the way the latest rumored cast member for Episode 7 - Ben Kingsley is also playing in Ender's Game together with Ford...

  1. He's just being coy, probably under secrecy orders- they want to do a big announcement some time down the track. Robert Englund recently said Mark Hamill is in training to reprise Luke Skywalker, I doubt he would have his facts wrong. Also, George Lucas has all but confirmed the 'big three' will be in Ep.7.

  2. Makes sense that he would make this kind of statement when he's clearly there to talk about another movie. If I were him I'd probably say something to shut them up about it.

  4. It's called... Hype. They are building up interest so that when they do announce it'll be a much bigger spectacle. Not that a new SW trilogy directed by JJ Abrams and written by Arndt needs any more hype.

    1. Yep. I agree. And they hype everything. Old cast, new cast, storyline etc.

  5. Here's a theory. They are waiting for Hamil and Fisher to be good enough in shape for the announcement in order to avoid any backlash from the general audience.

  6. They will announce the whole cast together, probably- the new young cast along with a looking good Ford, Fisher and Hamill- probably on a float waving to fans at Disney World!

    1. nope. old cast together but new guns one by one for more hype and talking after each name. from PR point this is better way.

  7. This is the Harrison Ford we know and love. Although he never quite enjoyed portraying the character of Han Solo, I'm sure they're offering a hefty sum to persuade him, and I also believe he likes the recognition enough to return as Solo.

  8. I suspect they're just holding their cards close to their chest, not wanting to reveal anything until they absolutely have to. Abrahams is notorious for his secrecy, and Ford traditionally has never really liked talking about films that he's not currently promoting at any given time. I'm sure once Ford is actively promoting a Star Wars film that will be released, he'll be happy to talk about it then.

  9. i think part 7 will be the greatest movie ever....... getting the originals back in it, JJ Abrams directing, Kathleen kennedy in charge, Disney connections, Michael ardnt who wrote it, and now with Lawrence Kasdan writing part 8 and producing 7 also, i dont see how they mess this up..... also remember this, JJ Abrams and Michael Ardnt grew up loving the original trilogy like most of us and feel the same connection with star wars as we do.. and JJ Abrams using more real film footage, not too much CGI crap like Lucas did..... personally, i think episode 7 will be the greates movie ever because of whos making it, the original cast back in it, other characters from parts 1, 2 and 3 in it..... all family generations will be connected through this..... and as JJ Abrams said, he was into Star Wars more than any Star trek growing up and even to today.... i believe JJ will pour all of his heart and magic in this and with the others along the way, i have no doubt it will be the greates movie ever.... yes, best ever.... over all Indiana Jones, Avatar, Titanic, Transformers, yiddy yadda blah blah.... you name it, it will be better that that..... this will be the only movie ever that will connect 3 generations all in one.. grandparents to grandchildren..... this part 7 will have all of age in charaters in this..... no movie can say that........ you heard it here........ see ya in 2015 sci fi fans..... this part 7 will make all feel reborn again..... even if your 90 years old......
