Update! More Teasing From Lucasfilm This Time About the Original Cast Returning?

big three

In a similar way like the teasers from the Original Trilogy, now StarWars.com is releasing new videos about the cast from Episode IV, V and VI. Could this lead to some kind of announcement regarding the Big Three? Or again it won't lead to anything in particular...

So in two consecutive Saturdays StarWars.com had released two interesting videos. The first one was about George Lucas finding Carrie Fisher for the role of Princess Leia:

The second video was about "the greatest scoundrel in the galaxy":

It's not very hard to predict that there should be another video released next week this time about Mark Hamill.

The first video was published on October 26, the second on November 2 so we should expect the Mark Hamill video to hit the web again on Saturday (November 9).

It really looks like these videos could lead to an announcement about the Big Three returning to reprise their roles in the new trilogy. Still Lucasfilm recently made it clear that sometimes a few old videos are just that - old videos. Nevertheless I still believe that all these videos have some meaning and we'll find out what they mean sooner or later.

Update!

While Bleeding Cool were discussing the latest rumor about Chiwetel Ejiofor, they mentioned something supporting this theory:
Now, I’ve lost count on how long we’ll have to wait but we’re certainly getting close to some kind of new video from the Star Wars official YouTube channel that will reveal, finally, that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford will all appear in Episode VII. That much I know. As part of their build up, the channel last night published this quick interview clip with George Lucas bigging up Harrison Ford.
So whatever people say, all these videos are not random. I really think they are part of the Episode 7 viral campaign. Very soon we'll find out much more.

special edition

By the way after the teasers that StarWars.com released about the movies from the Original Trilogy didn't lead to any Episode 7 announcement, many people started to wander if they had any meaning at all.

The most interesting speculation in the last days is that Disney are going to release the Original Trilogy in all its glory without any alterations. Indeed if you look at some of the titles of the released videos they really emphasize on the uniqueness of the originals.

Now I'm not sure that Lucasfilm will have the time for such time consuming task. Remember that they even postponed their plan to release Episode II and III in 3D so that they can concentrate on Episode 7. Also we have to keep in mind that Fox owns the distribution rights to Star Wars: A New Hope in perpetuity. They also hold theatrical, nontheatrical and home video rights to the other Star Wars films through May 2020.

If Disney intend to release the Original Trilogy unaltered first they need to strike some sort of deal with Fox. I find that very unlikely at least in the next few years.

episode 7

So it looks like next week will be pretty interesting. Just to sum things up:

- November 6 - the new Wednesday teaser video from the Original Trilogy.
- November 7 - Disney's 2013 earnings results webcast.
- November 9 - another teaser probably how Mark Hamill was cast in the OT.

    1. Nah, you'll come back every day or so like the rest of us because even foundless rumours and speculation are better than the alternative.

    2. ...it's speculation. If you don't like it, well you're in the wrong place mate. If you want official news, I suggest you stop whining here and go wait at starwars.com. :)

    3. Fan power is pretty powerful. If we all got together and stated our disgust with Disney, perhaps they will listen.

    5. notice the picture at top with the trio ? Luke and Leia wasnt brother and sister in the first stories by Lucas... in one chapyer, Luke wants Leai, but at the end she tells Luke that she chose Han..... in part 6 ( Return of the Jedi ), Lucas changed his plot to it and went ahead and made them brother and sister just like he changed his mind on the title ( Revenge of the Jedi ).....

  2. More speculation, lol. This site was wrong last Wednesday about a big announcement coming and no doubt will be wrong again, lol.
Wrongly hyping people up to get hits on the website maybe?... and leading a lot of fans on and leaving them disappointed.

  3. Well.. At this point I'm fairly sure nothing good is coming from that place. They apparently aren't smart enough to spin such a brilliant buzz strategy. The nice thing is my expectations for news has plummeted to such a low that when something does finally break it'll be a pleasant surprise!

Which is not to say I blame this site for anything. I enjoy reading the rumors and speculation. Keep up the good work.

    1. What exactly are they waiting for, till every Star Wars fan is pissed with the way Iger/JJ/Lucasfilm is handling this deal?

By withholding information, Disney is gaining more negative press than ever. All you need to do is search Star Wars VII on google news, and the only thing that comes up are stories like "Is Star Wars 7 in trouble?" or "There is a great disturbance in the Force for Disney...." etc.

  5. Yawn.

After the October 30 fiasco which resulted in NOTHING, I am no longer listening to these predictions about what to expect in the future.

Disney must really love to annoy Star Wars fans, because not only did they NOT give us casting news, but they chose to let us down even more with the whole Bob Iger/Kathleen Kennedy fiasco.

...and yet, the Disney/Marvel news keeps pouring in.

    sigh...

  6. Yeah, you're damn right, but anyway I will look everyday on this site for everything/anytning that look like news, both the bad and the good ones (of course I hope there will be no bad news at all!!) as everybody else, and I will be very patient for the next 1½ years!

  7. Good attempt viral hide - but you can only fool us once, I'm still reeling from the disappointment of your last theory

    1. And what do I get from fooling you? Nothing. Don't forget that I started the October 30 speculation just from one tweet and several rumors. At the end of the day I was right that there will be a series of teasers each Wednesday that will lead to some kind of announcement. Well it didn't come on October 30 but eventually it will. Now the situation is similar. Maybe this won't lead immediately to an announcement but still the Mark Hamill video will be released... I don't want to fool anyone. I just want to make the wait more interesting. I'm always stating my point and facts so everyone can decide for themselves if to believe me. I see that many fans support what I do and I'm grateful.

Now, I don't have any problems with fan speculation. It's fun.

Let's just make sure we're clear that it is in fact pure speculation.

  10. Have anyone caught any photos of Hamill and Fisher working to?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Simple solution: follow Mark and see where he goes . If his tracks lead to Disney or Skywalker Ranch, that might mean something.

  12. Here's a recent photo of Mark Hamill after working out and getting in shape for Episode 7..... he's looking good.

  15. If Hamill, Fisher & Ford return episode 7 will be COOL! If Hamill, Fisher, Ford, Mayhew, Williams, Daniels, Baker and Lawson return episode 7 will be BEYOND EPIC!!!!!!! It would be an event film. I sooo hope it blows Avengers out of the top seat!!!

  17. Patience! learn to use the force! I don't think we can be too harsh, they have a difficult task ahead and it strikes me that they are just trying to get it right. They are not just building towards Ep VII remember, but a whole new trilogy in a short space of time, they have to get it right from the off to create a solid basis for what is to follow.

  20. I really enjoy reading these blogs, keep em comin, even if its all just part of the rumor mill. And I do think there is a pattern going on, it's leading up to something big. They'll be something big here within the next couple of months and then nothing again until they're done with the film

    ReplyDelete
  21. Without the blogs such as this one or internet then we would have absolutely nothing to go on at all.
And the good thing about the blogs is they enable the fans to come together and communicate with each other. So that's a good thing.

    1. & we would have nothing to do, waiting for episode 7 is the biggest patience lesson ever :D (for a starwars fan) so we want something new every day, (don´t we?) rumors & specualtions are just for fun even when they turn out to be false, but it keeps us busy, so fans: would you rather have no rumours or specualtions at all?, specualtions is fun..
