salacious crumb

Today is the end of the second cycle of videos released by StarWars.com about the Original Trilogy. Probably today we'll see another video related to Return of the Jedi. While we wait, check out some other stories from the day...

First some more audition news.

Now you can even submit your audition online:

Manchester audition this weekend. Glasgow at the end of the month.

Audition in St. Louis:

David Oyelowo talks Star Wars:
"Everyone is asking me about Star Wars. The breaking news is J.J. Abrams is going to give you that breaking news."
"I'd go anywhere to work with J.J. Abrams. I think what he did with Star Trek was so extraordinary…And I think what he'll do with Star Wars will be just as impressive."
While it's not clear which role Oyelowo could be on the list for, he did say that Lando Calrissian is his favorite character. "He was pretty cool," the actor said.

How so?

Oyelowo said with a big smile, "Because he looks like me."

Update!

Here it comes:

So it would be interesting to see if they will continue to release Original Trilogy videos next Wednesday too. Or they will change the tactic.

P.S. It's funny that StarWars.com's youtube profile posted this video 4 hours before Twitter and Facebook. Strange...

  1. Was the title: "The Order Reborn" confirmed? I'm trying to find somewhere online that confirms it and I'm not seeing anything...

    2. I've seen it mentioned around the web on different forums when people are referencing Episode VII. Personally, I really like the sound of this title. It avoids any "of the Jedi" or "of the Sith" garbage, but still insinuates the rise of the new Jedi order. I don't think the new title should reflect any titles from the passed films and I think "The Order Reborn" is a perfect alternative.

    3. I don't see a movie made by J.J. Abrams titled "The Order Reborn". It just sounds too ordinary. Just think of J.J's other projects - Fringe, Alias, Into Darkness, Super 8, Cloverfield...

    4. ... it has to be something more original. :)

    5. I'd say that title is quite original, more so than "A New Dawn' or "Dawn of the Jedi" or anything else that rips off older Star Wars titles that fans have been suggesting.

    6. Agree, "A New Dawn" is pretty dull.

    7. Thanx 4 the info.......I agree it sounds like a nice title. Could be tho that it refers to the Sith order reborn, but it's probably for the Jedi which is way cool! To VH, i'll bet u JJ will have only a small input on the actual title to the new Star Wars film.......lets face it, between K. Kennedy & Disney, that's were the next Star Wars title will come from : ( The Order Reborn has a nice feel about it.

    8. following the titles from previous movies where the first in each trilogy reflects the other but opposite (lucas has said it himself) phantom menace/a new hope , attack of the clones/empire strikes back, , revenge of the sith/return of the jedi....

This means ep.7 could possibly have a "dark" title & not a positivie/"light" one, if the sith is on the uprise & it will reflect the title "a new hope" but opposite it could be something like: "An Ancient Threat" or something similar

I would not be dissapointed, but a little surprised if the title will be postive, because, the new jedi order/republic is already established & thrives, but then from the shadows the old threat from the sith once again emerges, i´d be happy with a positive title, but i think it will be the opposite (following Lucas own guidelines) ,we´ll just have to see right? :)

    9. In the EU the New Jedi Order & Republic thrive.......

It is still unknown if they thrive in "Film Cannon"

  2. A young Lando Calrissian in a Han Solo spinoff movie perhaps? (How great would it be to see Solo win the game of Sabacc that gets him the Falcon?)

So isn't that basically confirming J.J will break the news that he's cast..??

    1. They probably mean it is coming up (if the teaser trailers keep coming in the same order), and they wish it was an Episode VII trailer :D. I haven't seen ROTJ one for today anywhere yet.

  14. I dont know if I'm being too nit-picky about stuff, but as a hardcore Fanboy and avid reader of Star Wars, I feel like a lot of people, blogs, video news, etc.... talking bout this don't seem to be up to date with what is "current" in the timeline. My theory for quite some time has been this: (Slight spoiler alert to some) Following the events of the Fate of the Jedi series all the core characters of the original trilogy are of an age that the original actors can portray again. Sith have returned to the galaxy, nearly taking down Coruscant, there's the Ben/Vestara storyline, Jag/Jaina, Amelia coming into Force puberty so to speak.....I can see an entire trilogy built on just those few factors. They've already stated that the new movies will be an original story and not be based on any existing canon, i.e. we will not see a Thrawn Trilogy on the big screen. The New Order has already been well established for the better part of two decades and many core characters are no longer with us (RIP Chewy, Mara Jade, Anakin.....even Jacen, and many others. And with the Galaxy about to fall apart once again, craziness in Imperial politics, Fett's Mando's making a grand return.....I dont see how a new trilogy could or SHOULD be based any earlier. The canon is solid, entertaining and connecting up till now. Nothing for JJ to do but bring it home like I know he will.

The punch line, and please fellow fans tell me if I'm off base, is that I get irked when I hear new rumors about (insert random slightly talented, pretty face here) is being considered to play Anakin or Jacen Solo. Or about an epic story where Luke reestablishes the Jedi Order. Those stories have been told.....I want to know what's next.

    1. As far as JJ Abrams is concerned, none of that is canon. The story will simply pick up roughly 30 years after ROTJ. All of that was just a dream my friend. Or at least an alternate universe.. Hopefully we see Chewy and Mara though..

    2. Does seem like early consensus are the books are an alternate take. The movies can feel free to do whatever they want.

  15. Michael B. Jordan for Lando! He is the perfect actor to mascaraed such character and looks way more like him, in terms of physical appearance, than Oyelowo. Sorry, David.

    1. How about Billie D Williams......I vote original cast all the way. If Harrison, Mark, Carrie and Anthony are all in, Billie D is the only way to go.

    2. I think he meant Jordan as Lando in an Origins movie playing a young Lando

  16. As long as we're speculating plot details, my hunch tells me we may see something about The Journal of the Whills (might be even be the title for one of the episodes) in this new trilogy. Some secrets were set up in Revenge of the Sith that aren't answered in any of the films. I'm sure I'm not the only one to speculate this. Since George said in the 80s (Wikipedia, Star Wars Sequel Trilogy article) that the sequel trilogy will explore themes of morality and ethics, the overlapping theme in this new trilogy might be about the morality of immortality, of transcendence, if you will. It'd be a relevant theme to explore I think. Any of you guys seen Transcendental Man? Ray Kurzweil? Human immortality through the exponential advancement of computer technology? I don't know, maybe this is all far fetched but the new Star Wars films might deal with these themes.

  17. The Star Wars people should just hire Justin Bieber instead of wasting time doing auditions! Justin will make them tons of money and I hope they turn Star Wars 7 into a musical like High School Musical and Camp Rock!! All my friends said they will watch this movie only if Justin is in it! The old star wars is all boring if u ask me! Zendaya should be cast as the girl lead cos she can sing well!!

    2. Hey there! Great idea you have! They should make Star wars into a musical! Justin looks totally like the blonde Skywalter hero guy with the sword!
I think Vanessa Hutchens should play the Princess Lia though, her singing voice is great!

One more thing, the star wars peeps should update their clothes/look to look more current and fashion forward!
