Breathtaking Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6 Trailer!

star wars

Netflix has released the trailer of the upcoming final season of The Clone Wars. The Lost Missions will be revealed on Netflix on March 7...

It feels like they really tried hard to connect the story with the Movieverse. Looks like the Lucasfilm Story Group did a great job:

P.S. Yes they said Moriband. Obviously the report from Wiki was not accurate. As you know anyone can edit that info. Still I'm happy that the Moriband thing fits perfectly with JediDigger's story about Lucasfilm using altered characters and names from the EU in the new Star Wars canon.

    2. Wait... There was a canon outside of the movieverse? Since when and according to who?

    3. There are 3 or 4 different levels of canon. G-Canon, or George-Canon, includes the Movieverse and anything ever written or confirmed by Lucas himself. It's the most credible canon. T-Canon or Television-Canon is the second most credible canon. C-Canon or Continuity-Canon is reserved for books and videogame level canon, this is where most of the EU lies. And then there is N-Canon where anything ever written or aired which contradicts G through C levels of Canon goes to die (i.e. all of written EU material after 4 ABY)

    4. I was being sarcastic. Sorry :P
But for fans that weren't aware of the different levels of canon, AnonymousFebruary 24, 2014 at 7:17 PM has not your back.

    5. That was the old system. The new system is clearly stated to be divided into keep and don't keep.

Of course, they could just say that Korriban got re-named. Not much significant happened there less than 1000 years before the films.

The EU was never considered canon. Only just recently has Disney decided to go through the existing EU material to decide what should and shouldn't be considered fact in the Star Wars universe along with the films. At this point, as far as all of that miscellaneous content goes, the story team is in charge of what is and is not canon. Before this it's always been the decision of individual fans what not to consider canon. Do you really want Disney to include all of the alternate realities contained in the EU? That'd be quite a mess, wouldn't it? It's your fault for deciding for yourself what's considered Star Wars canon in your mind so go ahead and complain to yourself, if you really feel like it'll get you anywhere...

    3. Your a moron trying to tell a starwars fan what to like and not like.

    4. I'm a Star Wars fan telling a Star Wars fan that you have all of the freedom in the world to choose what to like and dislike about the Star Wars universe, but that doesn't make it canon in the eyes of Disney and LFL. Personally, I'll never consider anything outside of the movieverse canon, but I'm speaking entirely for myself. That's why they hired a story team in the first place; they're going to try and decide for everyone what is and is not canon. Personally, I think that's wrong of them to do with this franchise specifically, but who am I to say? I'm just a lowely fan of the saga. I'm not at all telling you whatyou should and shouldn't like...

    5. Anonymous Feb 24, 2014 at 7:08 PM you'll find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

    6. "The EU was never considered canon." If that were true there would be no reason for the canon to even exist in the context of Star Wars, any licensed EU product has always been canon unless countermanded by higher sources. If you want to consider any and everything out of the movieverse non-cannonical that's fine, but but don't say say that LFL didn't consider non movie related things canon. And the story team and the Holocron before it existed far before Disney bought LucasArts

      Delete
    7. Jopeyjoe you are full of it. Look at ANY interview about the Holocron, and of it's keepers. It was simple before. George had his own ideas, and EVERYONE ELSE BUT HIM kept an intact universe. Star Wars EU was unque for it's unified canon, as seen in those interviews. Only after George started The Clone Wars did this system fray; but they still released books patching things up. The bright side of them potentially erasing 90 percent of the EU, is that we won't have creatively bankrupt, grimdark, and copy-pasting of the Prequel Jedi, in books like we got after the New Jedi Order ended.

      Delete
    8. ...since when were the books canon? I thought they were just made up stories. Basically fan-fiction that was approved by Lucas to be published. If you want to make it canon for yourself fine but down tell Lucasfilm and Disney to fuck off for not wanting it canon for themselves..

      Delete
    9. Alright, I apologize and admit to speaking out of turn. I know the holocron and story team have been around for quite some time but only now is their authoritative position becoming truly evident. What they decide is and is not canon will be as such for all of the generations to come. I wish they'd just stick with the different levels of canon as we had before. It'd just be so much easier than having the story team go through every little bit of material in all levels of canon, picking and choosing what makes the most sense. It sounds good in theory, but I fear the repercussions will surface as time passes.

      Delete
    10. Well, in a sense it is an improvement. To use a metaphor:

Before, it was like a spider was keeping this web all perfect, and then someone would come and stick something through the web, and everyone would scramble to get the web back as it was, never to be because of the new obstruction, so they make the web as close as they can. Not so after this.

    11. Just for those that don't think books can be part of canon, just remember, that in the Thrawn Trilogy, the planet Corusant was created in those books and later adapted into the prequels. Also a fun fact, using a lightsaber to cut thru walls was also created in those books and later adapted into the prequels. But ya, the books are just fan fiction.

  4. I played it back at least ten times and it definitely says Morriband

  5. So it will no longer be a big revelation when Yoda tells Obi Wan that he has been in contact with Qui Gon in ROTS. Kinda stupid. Also it looks like they will further expand upon the force with more weird crap like we saw in the "Overlords" episode in season 3. Honestly it feels like if a character from the films had a peculiar haircut, people would ask "I wonder where they GOT that haircut??" and write a novel or cartoon about it, leaving no stone unturned. Mystery is ok Disney/Lucasfilm! We don't need backstories for everything. /Rant

    1. Well, I think this stuff with the ghosts is an IMPROVEMENT. That 'btw your master is still around but I only tell you now' in III was an insult. This is more fleshed out.

  6. dopeyjoe, yes, it was canon. There were different levels of canon but to act like it was someone's "fan fiction" just isn't true. Star Wars, unlike Star Trek, has an Expanded Universe that has to "fit." Books/games were just a lower tier of canon. For Disney just to change the name, because they can, is ridiculous. They currently have the 2nd largest MMO in the market-The Old Republic and KORRIBAN features heavily into it. I know at least 100 people, out of my 200 person guild, that will NOT be resubscribing if Korriban is no longer part of the EU. Why would I pay to play someone's fan fiction? We played because it was part of the Star Wars Universe. There still may be some aspect we aren't familiar with and this may be an alternate name of Korriban but if this is the future of Star Wars, I'm out. I'm not giving another penny to a franchise that basically says "Thanks for keeping us alive by buying EU stuff. Now FU." This will destroy what Star Wars is if they go in that direction. No one, save a few die hards or casuals, will buy another book series if it's just like Trek.

    1. It was never fanfiction. It was a unified canon. Like I said above, look at the interviews with the Holocron Keepers. Consistency across thousands of years of continuity. RPG sourcebooks, Essential Guides, always tying things together. Would all of those guides exist if it were just fanfiction? How many franchises have essential guides for their fanfiction, sold by the company????????

Please settle down, you're getting way too worked up over this. I agree with you, AnonymousFebruary 24, 2014 at 7:40 PM. You're just not understanding me correctly. Perhaps my wording is vague or something... Sorry for the miscommunication, but you don't have to update me on the levels of canon or anything like that.
It's not worth an explaination if you people aren't going to take the time to read and understand what I'm typing.

    4. Three is no way with the output of multimedia projects that a perfect continuity can be achieved. Lucas wanted the EU to have continuity period but bad communication happens. The EU to me means Exhausted Universe and needs a reset or New Direction, we will have to wait and see.
Realize things were a bit messy when the transition happened, they usually are.
For example Folini was on one protect then pulled away for another, this can have an affect. Also look at the 1313 situation...it got pulled for a change in direction as far as I am concerned.
I swear so many Star Wars Fans treat the Continuity as though they are Kathy Bates in film Misery. I can hear it now,"Boba Fett never got out of the cockadodie Sarlacc Pit!"

      Delete
    5. The thing is, it may have some bumps and bruises, but it was, for the most part done well. To my children, the EU IS Star Wars. They grew up with it, in the 90's. My son loved the EU name checks in the prequels because it really cemented "this is a real universe." To throw all that out for potential "new fans" never works, Look at Trek. When is the last time you saw a new fans come into that and STAY fans. You leave the dance with the girl you brought. The new fans they bring on, aren't going to have the numbers as the OT fans had. It won't be a "magical experience" for them as much as it was for us that were around in '77. The EU rebooted that magic. It kept Star Wars alive and I can't see the logic of that brand loyalty traded for what? What does alienating EU fans gain them? I understand the post 6 stuff may change. To be clear, I'm talking about previous too.

      Delete
    6. I'm pretty sure only the post 6 stuff will be retconned. Everything else will for the most part remain unchanged except for the stuff that took place between 5 BBY to 0BBY like force unleashed and force unleashed II. that material is being replaced with Rebels

  7. We as fans should just not validate this crap that they are doing, Moriband my ass. Lets send mails to Disney and thank them for Korriban.Same with events. If they say Morriband ignore them and say you mean Korriban !!

  8. When I wrote that, you had stated "The EU was never considered canon.." Hence my explanation.

  9. Hear me out on this one, what if they changed the name for the commercial just to mess with us but in actuality when we watch the episode it will refer to it as Korriban?

    1. Ha ha, I wish... Though perhaps retconing the Korriban *system's* to Moriband or vice versa? Somebody else mentioned that it seemed like there was a cut round that point so 'Moriband' could be a place a few hundred-thousand kilometers away from The Valley of The Dark Lords... But I feel this is just optimism.

  10. I guess you gotta be careful posting headlines...

If this were before Disney, there would certainly be a mention in an upcoming Essential Guide of how the planet's name was later changed. Easy patchwork... The thing is, we probably aren't going to know what is and isn't canon for a very long time, potentially after the ST is over. Press only care about the films, they want to distract hardcore fans from the EU with the films and Rebels. If I were Disney execs, I would see Prequel Fans, The Clone Wars Fans, and new fans brought in by advertising for VII, and weigh them against the number of people who know who Mara Jade was... Of course, none of that means the new movies will suck. With luck, we'll see a Rogue Squadron HBO series or something as a consolation.

Has Folinni even seen or talked to Kasdan other than high in the hall.
To all who think much if any crossover other than some names please share because I just really don't think so. Weather it is Rebels or Clone Wars I don't think there will be any more crossover than that of what we saw in the PT is, Courascant and a couple of Jedi in the wings.

  16. Korriban is home to the species called Sith and it is also a sacred world for the Sith Order. So technically, if you want to argue on Disney's side, Morriban could still be canonically correct. Which Sith are they talking about really, species or the order? Yeah the Sith Order took up the name from the species, but what is their home world?

    I don't know, I'm just speculating really.

  17. In ROTS, Yoda talks to Obi-Wan about Qui-Gon—right after Qui-Gon contacted Yoda (deleted scene). Obi-Wan reacts with pleasant surprise. Now, first, TCW has already established that Qui-Gon has already contacted Obi-Wan, thus changing Obi-Wan's pleasant surprise to be something like "he's contacted you too?" But in this trailer Yoda appears to talk about Qui-Gon right in front of Obi-Wan. (?) I sense a potential continuity conflict.... Also, Yoda confronting Sidious prior to ROTS seems a bit silly, no?

If you ask me, most of this series is conflicting with the established continuity of the movieverse.

    2. I am pretty sure that is going to be a sith that is going to be voiced by Mark Hamill that Yoda will face when he goes to the sith home world. I could be wrong but this is were I am getting that info. http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2013/07/mark-hamil-reveals-role-on-clone-wars.html

      Delete
    3. That would be an interesting possibility, but it really does look like Sidious to me. I'm guessing Hamill is voicing one of the "ghosts" (?) or whatever they are that yoda is fighting on Moribund.

Side note: Qui-Gon instructing Yoda to go to Dagobah sounds really cool. I wonder what we'll learn about Dagobah that'll change our perception of it?

      Delete
    4. Person that posted the Mark Hamill link: Yes the character does look like Sidious which would be weird if Yoda did face him before episode 3. I am just really hoping that it is a new sith. Also I have always wanted to know more of why Yoda chose Dagobah. I really am going to miss this show, hopefully Rebels is just as good

      Delete
    5. Yoda choose Dagobah:
      Remote world with no civilization.
"Massive life form readings" = hard to be scenced through the force by others.
And was it part of the missing planet thing when they were erased in the Jedi archives?

      Delete
    6. There was actually a massive battle on Dagobah in which a very powerful darksider was killed, thus the Darkside Cave, and that taint was used to hide Yoda's presence in the Force. All the things you said also apply of course

      Delete
    7. That's interesting, Can't wait to see what is in store, the cave scene was a major concept that always caused interesting discussion between my friends. Another great thing about the storylines, the what ifs and ambiguities stimulate the imagination.

  19. I think that the name "Moriband" is another name to Korriban(it does still exists). I hope so, at least. So... about the trailer... OMG! THIS IS AWESOME! THAT GHOST BATTLE IS SO AMAZING.

  20. Maybe Morriban & Korriban are just a play off the planets names...
Something like that was done in Ep. 4.

  21. How many Sith homeworlds have we seen over the years? Korriban, Dromund Kaas, Ziost...

Yes, Korriban is the homeworld of the Sith SPECIES. The trailer doesn't say if it relates to the species or to the Sith Order.

Here is something far bigger that I've seen in the trailer...

What if the beings that Yoda is talking to, that tell him he has to take the gravest of journeys, WHAT IF THEY'RE THE WHILLS?

This episode is about Qui-Gon finally speaking to Yoda, so that he can be taught by him, just as he told Obi-Wan at the end of Episode III. Though, in the Illustrated Screenplay of Episode III, Qui-Gon tells Yoda this:

"The ability to defy oblivion can be achieved, but only for oneself. It was accomplished by a Shaman of the Whills. It is a state acquired through compassion, not greed."

It seems like Qui-Gon tells him where to meet the Whills so that they can begin the process of having Yoda understand the knowledge.

    4. Hmm.. The Whills have nigh ever been touched upon.. I don't no if there inclusion into the last few episodes would be good. And they are far too obscure to be in ep7, it'd be asinine to keep that and fuck over the most popular EU concepts and characters.

      Delete
    5. This is the same guy who wrote the first comment.

They've rarely ever been touched upon because Lucas has basically let no one touch them at all. Though, he was involved heavily in the show.

  22. About Morriban, could it be a dipstick test to see how fans will react to the change in c -canon? If all hell breaks loose, they could always dub over or says its morriban in sith tongue or something like that. And they ll keep the original names??? Maybe its wishful thinking. Maybe they just don't care ...

    2. I was thinking. Could we in anyway convince Disney to keep both movieverse canon and eu canon?
