Exclusive Licensing Agreement with The Disney/ABC Television Group Brings Star Wars Content to Netflix Streaming Members for the First Time

The Galactic Republic, Disney/ABC Television Group, Lucasfilm, and Netflix Inc. today announced the highly anticipated debut of the sixth and final season of the Emmy(r) Award-winning series Star Wars: The Clone Wars exclusively to Netflix members in the US and Canada on Friday, March 7. Accompanying the 13-episode new season dubbed "The Lost Missions" will be the entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars saga, which includes several director's cut episodes never seen on TV as well as the feature film. This multi-year agreement also makes Netflix the exclusive subscription service for the entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.

In these eagerly anticipated episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker's closest relationship is tested to its limits, and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy. Fans will not only be able to watch the thrilling finale, they'll be able to see more of Star Wars: The Clone Wars than ever before as Netflix will also stream the director's cut of seasons one to five.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is the first time any Star Wars content has been available for Netflix streaming members. The deal follows a recent announcement from Netflix and The Walt Disney Company to bring multiple original series based on Marvel characters to the service in 2015. Netflix will be the exclusive US subscription television service for first-run, live-action, and animated movies from the Walt Disney Studios including titles from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Disneynature, and Lucasfilm beginning in 2016. Netflix members can currently enjoy a wide range of Disney, ABC Entertainment Group and Disney Channel films and TV shows across the 41 countries where Netflix operates.

  7. Viral Hide, you do a great job with this website. You should really consider adding a message board. I might be able to help if you're interested.

Either way, keep up the great work.

    1. A message board would be a great idea!

    2. I was considering this, but I'm still not sure. Many people really enjoy the anonymous option in the comments section. They won't have that option in the message boards. I guess I could make a poll to see what you guys think. Echo-07 please send me an e-mail with your proposition. :)

    3. There's got to be a way to post anonymously on a message board.

Otherwise, people can still post anonymously on the blog if they wanted to.

I post anonymously mainly because it gets tiresome having to register on every website.

    4. Viral -- sorry for the delay. very busy at work. I'll gladly send you an e-mail. however, I don't know what it is. I tried looking for it somewhere on this site and couldn't find it.

I do have a proposition that I think you'd be interested in and with your net prowess think it could be a very excellent idea.

    7. @Viral Hide -You should definitly keep the Anonymus option, so someone just passing by or people involved in the movies/series can post

But it would be great to know/get an update if someone has replied on your comment (i understand that may not be possible with anonymus posts) but it would probably get more people posting with names.

Many other star wars sites don´t have the anonymus option & they don´t get so much comments either, without the anonymus option, it would be a more "closed community" so keep it open & the disscussions will thrive :)

PS. keep up the good work, this is my favourite Star Wars fan site & I am sure a lot of people would agree with me

  10. This is pretty cool news.

I'd like to see them also release Droids, Ewoks, the two Ewok movies, and the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon series.

I'd also like to see the six films released on Netflix as well.

    Replies
    1. The six movies won't be on netflix until after EpVII is released, or so Bob Iger mentioned during a Disney quarterly earnings investor relations wecast. I'm not sure about the earlier cartoon series or the two live action Ewok movies, but I used to love the animated Ewoks as a kid.

    2. LOVED the Clone Wars 2003 "Anime"! The show, not so much.

  11. Great! Though I hope it will be released on BD/DVD as well.

    1. Why Netflix is super cheap and has a ton of shows. Also it is way better then tv because there are no commercials

  13. So the new episodes are going on netflix on the 7th, so that means they must be airing before the 7th of March but just not been announced yet? And for people worrying about netflix many sites like http://dubbed-scene.com/cartoon/star-wars-clone-wars & http://watchseries.lt/serie/star_wars:_the_clone_wars

  15. That stormtrooper image looks 2x as good as the cgi in AOTC. That and whiny teen anakin are what kills it for me. I'm hoping ep7 sets a new standard for realism/believability and is a billion parsecs from the prequels CGI sets and models.

    1. Actually this image is indeed from AOTC.

    2. Yup. That's a phase I trooper at 1st Geonosis

  16. Does this mean Anikan's non acting ghost could be in 7?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. well sir Alec Guinnes can not provide the voice or forceghost appearance, so it is a real possibility Anakin will talk to Luke, if he still needs a mentor.

I don´t know what i prefer: Hayden Christensen/Anakin forceghost or Ewan McGregor/Obi Wan forceghost.

I´d prefer Ewan as Obi Wan, but not if he looks like young ObiWan in the prequels. Maybe they will just stick with Yoda (& maybe QuiGon?) If they stick with Yoda i sure do hope they use the puppet, it has so much more expression in it´s appearance

General, this makes this handset way smarter and cooler than its predecessor.

This is simply because it's no longer below warranty.
