Sam Witwer Talks Star Wars: Episode 7, TCW and More.

star wars

The guys from Schmoesknow sent us yesterday their latest Star Wars podcast with guest star Sam Witwer. In this podcast the star of the Force Unleashed games, who is also the voice of Darth Maul in TCW series, revealed that he was going to audition for a certain role in Episode 7 but unfortunately the part changed due to the script re-writes and he didn't go in. He is also discussing how he got the job as Starkiller and more on TCW...

Here's the whole podcast:

Sam is really a great guy. I hope he will continue his work with Star Wars related products. Actually I'm sure he will...

  3. Applause to Sam Witwer, great person and caring Star wars fan!...

  4. Oh wow, I never realized that they actually made Galen look like the actor. That would certainly have been interesting if not a little eerie to see that face in a Star Wars movie.

Guess we'll have to wait a couple years for that now.

  5. Hopefully he isn't cast in anything else star wars. too distracting

    1. What ? No if anyone should be in the next Star Wars movies it should be him.

      Delete
    2. Which is exactly why he should NOT be in the movies.

      Delete
    3. I see no logic in what you are saying. He should have at least a cameo or a small acting role.

      Delete
    4. ... Distracting - "a thing that prevents someone from concentrating on something else."

      Delete
    5. It doesn't distract me that Julian Glover "Donovan" from Indiana Jones the last crusade is General Veers or Peter Cushing horror movie career , Harrison ford as Indiana Jones, Alec Guinness was Obi wan Kenobi and Colonel Nicholson from The Bridge on the River Kwai, Ewan McGregor is Renton from Trainspotting and is Obi wan Kenobi, Liam Neeson "Qui-Gon Jinn" was Oskar Schindler from Schindler's List. The one that is distracting is Samuel L. Jackson "Jules Winnfield" from Pulp Fiction was Mace Windu.

    6. I think it will be fine to put him in the next Star Wars movie.

    7. ..yeeess but they weren't all main characters from previous star wars material.

      Delete
    8. So? They were main characters from some of the biggest movies of all time and most people don't even know who Sam Witwer even is.

      Delete
    9. "So?" ..is that a serious question? Ok, well why not just have the guy who played Frodo play another character in the hobbit films then right? Because, you know, so what?

      Delete
    10. You know what the difference of what you are saying and what i'm saying is right ? Sam Witwer has never been in a Star Wars Movie or even had a live action appearance in Star Wars material , Elijah Wood "Frodo" was in the first Hobbit movie but was not playing a different character though.

    11. "Sam Witwer has never been in a Star Wars Movie or even had a live action appearance in Star Wars material"
Sam Witwer has been in star wars material.

People will see him in episode 7 and go "Wait, why is the guy from the force unleashed in this film?". Hence, there will be a problem.
"Elijah Wood "Frodo" was in the first Hobbit movie but was not playing a different character though."
YES I KNOW!! ASDFGK!!! My point is, Sam has played a main character in star wars material, so he should not appear in any more star wars material in a different role. Which, as an example, I said someone like Elijah who played a main character in a franchise, (Frodo in lord of the rings) should obviously not be allowed to play a different character in anymore lord of the rings material, as it would be beyond stupid. How can you not grasp this simple concept?

      Delete
    12. I will not grasp your simple concept because you're unreasonable on this topic. The thing he was a main character is basically noncanon now and it was a video game. Most people probably over 70% that are going to see this movie don't even know he was in Star Wars material, another 10 % are happy to see him, 15 % don't care and 5% will make a fuss like you.

      Delete
    13. Anthony Daniels had two different parts in Star Wars Episode 2.

      Delete
    14. No, you refuse to grasp such a simple concept because you clearly are unable to see logic. and made up statistics that are completely inaccurate.. yeah, great argument... Who cares what the actual story was that he was in? It's the character/actor we are talking about. Not the level of canon and not the medium. He, as an actor portraying another character, would be tainted. Fact. Do I really have to bring up my Elijah argument again which you clearly ignored? Elijah was a main character in tolkeins universe, the lord of the rings. He in tainted. Bringing Elijah back to play a character in another tolkein universe material is stupid. The same way Sam played a main character in the star wars universe. Bringing him or Elijah back into another feature film as a different character is ridiculous because they are tainted. Who cares about the amount of people who will know? Who cares if the previous work was canon. Who cares if it's a video game, who cares if it's a tv show, who care's if it's a film? The medium has nothing to do with it. And we are not talking about some small star wars toy commercial for star wars, we are talking about a very high profile star wars material, including 2 video games selling millions, and using his own face as the character. He will therefore be recognisable to millions of people and those people will be confused as to if he is playing the same character or a different one, hence taking them out the film because of a pointless distraction which could have just been easily avoided by simply using a different actor that is not tainted to anything else star wars related. It's soooo very simple.

      Delete
    15. ANTHONY DANIELS PLAYED C3PO. YOU DON'T SEE HIS FACE. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M EVEN HAVING SUCH A STUPID ARGUMENT

      Delete
    16. I don't have a problem with Elijah Wood playing another character in lotr or the hobbit as long as he didn't look like Frodo or sound like him its fine, you there are aliens in star wars right? Sam Witwer could get painted up and be a alien in the background do you have a problem with that ?

      Delete
    17. ..So wait, you don't have a problem with the main character of a franchise also playing another character in the franchise?.. Ok wow well I guess that concludes things here then. Maybe they should have R2D2 in the hobbit while we're at it. Because you know, maybe "70% that are going to see this movie don't even know he was in Star Wars material, another 10 % are happy to see him, 15 % don't care and 5% will make a fuss like you." Hurray. No problem! Let's make it happen guys!
and by the way, if the actor was unrecognizable because he was an alien in the background, then that just defeats the entire purpose. Unless we are talking about some cameo but that obviously shouldn't happen because he wasn't part of the actual films so has no place there. And I've already pointed out why he shouldn't have a speaking role.

      Delete
    18. If Kenny Baker wants to be in the hobbit thats fine, and you know actors can do different voices? It doesn't defeat the entire purpose, Sam Witwer is a fan of Star Wars if he can look and see himself on screen i think it would be enough to make him happy even if he was a alien, i know i would be happy. By the way Back to The Future had actors play different roles in the same movies i thought it was fine.

      Delete
    19. I'd love to be in star wars. Doesn't mean I should..
Oh great, good for you. Hold up, Duke Groundrunner "thought it was fine" so therefore its fine

      Delete
  6. Man, TFU got swept under the rug almost completely. I actually like the story and how it connected to the OT. Too bad it won't be touched upon in anything from here on. R.I.P. TFU

  10. ♫ More news that EU will not be in the new films, or might not be around much longer:

    1. It's obvious they should scrap it. It's nothing more than published fan fiction. But of course they probably won't because butthurt fans will go into a tantrum

      Delete
    2. There are still parts of the EU that are not fan fiction, like pretty much all the video games made by LucasArts...

      Delete
    3. force unleashed is no longer cannon

      Delete
    4. Lucasfilm have said that the only real cannon is the films. They just say there's supposed subdivision's of canon to bullshit the EU and game's fanboys. And now didn't they set up a group where they are currently seeing what they can pinch to put in the films?

      Delete
    5. how long until we can declare the prequels none cannon? so i can stop crying myself to sleep

      Delete
    6. haha oh I declared the prequels non cannon years ago. But shh don't tell the prequel fanboys because apparently we're clinging onto childhoods and they make up about 20 excuses as to why you don't enjoy bad films.

      Delete
    7. The EU, Cartoons and video games were never canon. EU is fanfiction, Cartoons are for kids, and the video games are just games. Although i liked the first Force unleashed

      Delete
    8. Some EU are okay, but most are so bad.

But to some fans EU is important so why disrespect those fans. It would be better to move forward in time and scrap all old characters maybe keep the droids. Luke can be a force ghost. and start from zero

      Delete
  11. They never sad that EU is not a canon, where do you get these delusional thoughts from, show me one official statement from Lucasfilm, all this discussions raised because of the Dysney, they even made clear that Darth Bane is in The Clone wars which made for everyone understand that he's now a ''canon'', this's why it's called a EU, which makes it part from screen Star wars, and even The Force unleashed is no where sad that it's not a ''canon''...

    ReplyDelete
  12. With all due respect, I have to say I had a hard time taking some of what he says seriously after he says "episode 1 looked real." that movie looked like a confusion of content: cartoon? live-action? It looked everything but real. Sorry, Sam, but wrong call.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anonymous is wrong with his argument that caracters like R2D2 can't be in the hobbit ,besides it wouldn't make any sense, even E.T. was in Star Wars and surely not as the alien he played in E.T.-the film. So why shouldn't be Sam Witwer in episode VII as Starkiller or someone else. I tkink that would be a great idea because if you had good eyes you can see hundreds of easter eggs in Star Wars like the hat of Indiana Jones or in episode III, a canon and good film Anonymous, you can see George Lucas himself as baron Papanoiida or In episode I on Tatooine Quinlan Vos and afterwards they made the comic the Stark hyperspace war where is the explication why he was there and ignored Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. And because all of that I think Sam Witwer deserved A part in episode VII even if its a little part. Duke Groundrunner was right He is really cool guy and Disney should give him a chance
