  3. I personally believe that the Big 3 aren't all coming back. Otherwise Disney would have announced their return already. Something's fisher, I mean fishy.

    1. I agree with you. Lets keep our fingers crossed they don't come back. At first I wanted nothing more than to have them back, now I think its a bad idea. Lets move on, the originals had their time. New cast for a new generation of fans.

    2. Personally I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are indeed back. There's this idea going around that if the big three return, then they will be the main characters and it will be the same story and there wont be a new cast. No, it will be a fresh new story, plot, villain, heroes, etc etc. But I have no idea why people have a problem with the big three coming back as age appropriate characters that pass on the mantle to this new trilogy. I imagine Luke will train the main character as a jedi, Leia and Han will be commanders and parents to some of the new cast too. It would be great to see. I just think Disney want to announce the whole thing after the actors weight loss so they can show Mark and Carrie off as slim and able actors. The shallow and moronic world of the internet would have gone in meltdown when if they had announced the big three a year and a half ago. People are still clinging onto nostalgia that they should all be young and fit and healthy and in their twenties and don't want it any other way. They have no reason to announce anything so they can wait as long as they want, that is until May when shooting starts and it will be a nightmare to keep casting secrets.

    3. The movie comes out in almost two years. Why would they have to announce the cast that soon? I expect their confirmation to come in May.

  6. I'd be more inclined to believe that one or more of the "Big 3" weren't coming back if we'd had other official casting announcements. But other than a few heavy rumors (like the Variety rumor about the villain character) we really haven't gotten anything solid yet as to who's going to be in this thing. It's been sounding as though perhaps there are some issues finding the right people for the newer cast

It sounds more to me as though the marketing folks at MouseCo are trying to hold off and do a mass cast announcement once everyone is in place.

The notion that they would actually recast OT characters for this just doesn't ring true. This is Star Wars, after all. It's not like they can just "pull a Darrin" with one of the classic characters and not get major grief from SW fans about it.

IMHO if they are going to dump one of the OT actors, they're much better off writing him (or her) out of the story entirely.

  7. Have to say, it's really nice of TCW to have came out in nonsensical chronological order.

    1. I wonder why they did that?

    2. Just a matter of kinda sloppy writing in the first 2 seasons... Don't know why season 5 is out of order though.

      Delete
    3. Probably because they were making it up as they went along. Many of the Clone Wars stories tended to be self-contained, and since there was so much going on all over the galaxy, rather than a focus on a narrower storyline like what we saw in the movies, it makes sense that some of the stories would have ended up being told (and thought up!) out of order with one another.

I always thought it worked just fine in the order the episodes were shown in, though.

  8. Hope they are all back but for me Luke is most importent.

    1. Yeah. Luke is the last jedi so I have no idea why people don't want him to come back. He needs to come back to carry on and train in the jedi ways. Well either that or no jedi in ep7 ep8 or ep9. Leia is a senitor, commander, leader, general, princess etc so she will find some part to play somewhere. But then there's Han, Chewie, Lando, who of course I love, but I have no idea what their use could be.

    2. "Senitor"? Oh come on...

    3. I am so sorry for the fact I put a letter I instead of a letter O. I apologise profusely for causing such confusion to your small and closed-minded brain. I'm so sorry for causing such distress.

    4. I think it would be a neat twist to not have any of the BIG 3 return. After ROTJ Luke very well could have went into isolation like Yoda and didn't train any Jedi. Rather his legacy as a Jedi was to create a Jedi bible through holocrons for future generations to find. EP7 picks up 50 years after Luke's death and could be about a Sith equivalent discovering the Jedi bible and converting to the good side by learning the ways of the force and establishing a Jedi order in a new way. Sort of like the Saul to Paul transformation in the Christian bible.

      Delete
    5. Truthfully I'd like that far more then anything they could/would do in the 30 years after ROTJ setting.

      Delete
    6. wow that jedi bible idea sounds so bad it's funny sorry haha

    3. It also goes against all the indications that she will be in Ep7, such as the weight loss and comments from people close to her. Hell, she even SAID that she was going to be in the damn movie.

And 'TheWARSguy' can shove his 'announcement coming soon' and pathetic 'smokescreen' story up his ####. He's obviously just some loser who thrives on pretending to know something that the general populous doesn't. Get a life!

The Star Wars 'rumor mill' is really starting to collapse on itself.

  10. Maybe there will be a special cast announcement TV special on the Disney-owned ABC network. They are doing a special show for the Marvel cinematic universe in March. Why not one for Star Wars, too?

  16. So, you add the tweet from the guy who said he had a gut feeling Fisher won't be in the film? A gut feeling? No proof. Shit, he even says he doesn't have proof, but no we're still going to put it up just to add more fuel the fire of Fisher being recast when as of right now there's more proof she'll be on her way to England in a few months. I expect better from this site.

    1. You're missing the point. The guy who posted that is the Editor in Cheif of Collider. A very well respected site for me. Actually this is the first time that a major site says something about The Big Three probably not returning. I know there's no proof but there is more in this tweet than meets the eye... ;)

    2. My gut feeling tells me the sun is not going to rise tomorrow.

    3. There would be more to it if he actually had something, but he says himself he has nothing. Just a feeling. Based off what exactly? That tabloid story from last month? Yes, because in Hollywood they fire you for Maybe buying drugs from your dealer. If that were the case no movies would get made. The recast as of now has not basis in anything, and there is more reliable proof that she has not been recast, then there isn't.

  18. If it is true they are recasting someone, maybe that will mean they won't be using the old characters as a crutch, so that a new generation will hold the spotlight? I know in the EU books, they tried to pass it on to a new generation, but killed most everyone in that generation and always reverted to banking on nostalgia. Hopefully a mistake not repeated, recast or no.

    1. Well to be fair, they killed off a ton of characters in the Vong war and Second Galactic Civil war. While I know you personally despise the SGC nothing much interesting happens between then and the Second Imperial Civil war(which is far superior) but politics..

    2. Recast means new actors for familiar roles, it would just be casting if it was for new characters. Plus since JJ took over the rumors have been that the characters from the OT are now the center of the story, not new characters.

  19. Crikey, folks! We go the better part of three days without any new posts, everyone is getting antsy for something new to talk about, Viral posts a compilation of recent stuff that caught his eye, and right away people are bitching about the quality of the rumors?

We don't really know anything yet and we probably won't get any official announcements for awhile. Rumors are all we've got to play with for the time being. Cut Viral a bit of slack, willya?

  21. Wow what's with all the gobby whiny twits on here recently? There is no official news to be reported on.. What do you expect to be on here? Just be patient and grow up, don't blame sites like this. for the lack of official confirmations. This particular article is just something for the time being; a collection of tweets. It's not claiming to be official news or rumours or whatever that you oh-so-'patiently'-are waiting for. (I hope your small brains and thick skulls can digest my sarcasm when I mentioned 'patiently'..) So yeah please calm your tits folks.

Maybe it was marked as spam from the blogger comment system. Guys keep in mind that there are hundreds of anonymous comments each day that are marked as spam by blogger. And thank God for that, otherwise moderating would have been hell. The best way to be sure that your post won't be accidentally marked as spam is to use a name and not the anon option. Still the spam control is doing great job. There are days when I remove almost 1000 comments from the spam folder. :)

  24. Presumably this guy wouldn't tweet about Carrie Fisher unless he had some reason to believe what he wrote. "Gut feelings" don't come out of nowhere. And presumably this blog wouldn't post the tweet unless they had reason to believe it's true. So come out with it already.

  25. It doesn't even matter what these people say. This whole "expect news soon" garbage is really getting old. The "news" is always just unfounded rumors anyway. Personally, I don't expect them to actually confirm any of the cast until some time around Comic-Con.

    1. ^not that I disagree with you, JP, but how is Disney going to keep the cast secret if filming starts in May? Especially if they film outdoors?

      Delete
    2. Maybe Disney & Co. just want to keep the cast secret until it is complete? I am not sure it's their intention or their will to keep things too secret. It could create such a huge expectation that many people will be more than deceived. It would just be counter-productive.

  28. No Luke, no ticket. They don't need all three back (necessarily) but any SW sequels that don't have an old jedi master Luke Skywalker I can happily live without. A big part of the fun here will be the return of Hamill, seen plenty of Harrison (good though he is) Carrie should probably be there too though she's not as important as Luke, 2nd half of the great mans life coming up or I'm out..
