  1. I just hope they announce something FINALLY on the 4th

  2. True Star Wars fans know that the real Star Wars Day is on May 25th, the date of the release of the first film; Star Wars' birthday.

May 4th has no meaning, other than being a stupid pun.

    1. And being internationally recognized. It's all in good fun, no need to get all butthurt about it, Anon. I too celebrate the 25th being the birth of Star Wars, but that doesn't mean I'm some kind of heritic for watching the trilogy with my friends and saying "May the Fourth Be With You."
It's not for you to say what it takes to be a true Star Wars fan; just define it for yourself rather than others.

    2. What is with this " true star wars fans" ridiculousness?

    3. I realised there is no such thing as a true star wars fan...
there is only Star Wars fan.
or not a fan of star wars

Do or do not there is no try..

    4. I am both highly and deeply butthurt.

    5. @dandino8100 I like the Phantom Menace.

Do you think there's such thing as a true Star Wars fan now?

      Delete
    6. I enjoy certain parts of the phantom menace.
I cant change the movie or the past so i try not to focus on the negative

    7. If you're a fan of anything Star Wars, by definition that makes you a Star Wars fan. There's no absolute truth involved besides that simple fact.

      Talk about nerd-nit-picking . . . LOL I'm a "True Star Wars fan" and I don't celebrate May 25th OMGZ!!!!

Since Disney really seems to be pushing May the 4th hard and it works btw -- last year the peeps I know had fun with it -- I could see Disney releasing the casting "news" on May 4th even though it's a Sunday and news usually isn't released on the weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow released a special little video on the official site or something.

I'm glad you posted that Dandino, my opinion of you has been positively increased.

    3. Haha for a second I thought you said made in Tatooine. But seriously I'm wondering if they lent the actual new R2 prop for the commercial.

    2. Yawn... please wake me when you get a real comment,a sense of humor, and balls to not be anonymous..... how many times do we have to read your tired old comment... apparently you are awake enough to troll the comment boards day in and out and post that same tired excuse for humor...

      Delete
    3. His next comment will be, "yawn .... when the title is announced" and so on

    4. @beerdawg21, what in the hell are you criticizing him for? You go to this site expecting to find Star Wars VIi news and instead get NONE. I find that tiresome. Don't blame people for expressing their frustration with Disney and J J Abrams for being tight-lipped.

      btw, YOU are the troll.

      Delete
    5. "Addressed the anonymous that addressed beerdawg21" The anonymous shouldn't be spaming the in the comments on every news article. Its not really acceptable to frustrate other people by spaming the same thing over & over even if he's suffering from frustration himself.

      Delete
    6. Mark Hamill is the heart and soul of the entire franchise. Wake me as well.

      Delete
    7. i agree it is frustrating... and i agree with the last anon about mark hamill.. .i'm excited as hell... but posting the same old tired comment over and over just for the sake of having something to say is just as bad as showing up and reading nothing new... i mean we could not have this site all together and then there wouldn't be any news or non news to comment on at all... yawn...

  7. If I were to copy and paste anything daily it'd be that.. bring back luke skywalker the most badass jedi in the galaxy

    1. bring back anakin skywalker in some way (force ghost?) The saga was really about his rise and fall, he was the main protagonist. Bring him back.

      Delete
    2. umm wtf? You said it yourself "The saga was really about his rise and fall." That story has been told. Let's explore and develop the saga further please. Why retell the same story and bring back the character's story when it's already told?

      Delete
    3. Anon @ 9:35 PM not bringing him back or making him the main focus of the ST demonstrates that the episodic movies are bigger than him - which they should be.

      Delete
    4. @anon 9:50,

Ok, I meant to say, anakin's rise, his fall, and his REDEMPTION. Let us not forget that the Empire did not go away because the emperor died. And whose ghost appeared in the second to last scene of Episode VI? Oh, that's right, Anakin Skywalker.

If I was Luke I would love to have the spiritual guidance of the most powerful jedi of all times.

      Delete
    5. Since Anakin in some form has been in each and every movie so far, he should indeed have some kind of presence in the sequel trilogy as well. It was established at the end of Jedi that he can appear as a Force ghost. If some person in the sequels feels the pull of the Dark Side, none would be better qualified than Anakin to warn him/her about the dangers of giving in.

If Anakin (who would, after all, have to be Hayden Christensen) were to intereact directly with Luke, I wonder about the overall effect. Would some in the audience find it silly if a 60-something Mark Hamill adresses an obviously much younger actor and yet refers to him as his father?

Or might Anakin opt to appear in Vader form, not because he has reverted to being evil, but as a warning about the price of evil?

  8. Sorry but I highly doubt they will release any news on may the fourth. It's a Sunday.

  9. Does it seem like they're unusually hyping May 4th? They most have a really big let down to announce..

  10. I don't know, seems about the same as last year.

  11. Don't forget guys that Star Wars: Rebels will be the main focus on May the 4th. Still I think some Episode VII news will squeeze through.

    1. Disney will release information when the time is right. Not because some random Star Wars fan tweets a rumor. Not because a date has historical meaning. Not because fans are obsessing over the "need to know".

    2. @Ryan, I bet you let people piss on your head and tell you its rain

    3. You're right, Disney would never listen to Star Wars fans....

They just listen to Marvel fans by giving them what THEY want.

    5. THANK YOU RYAN. the chances of getting a cast announcement on may the fourth is so slim. They will release huge information such as casting when it's right, not because some day on the calendar rhymes with "may the force". They will use that day to flog stuff like lego games and probably Rebels stuff. You all have much to learn young ones when it comes to PR.
