To clear up any confusion about this being the "first trailer" the two trailers released on the Star Wars youtube channel a while ago Spark and Ignite were teasers, not an actual trailer. The Trailer releasing this Sunday will probably show plot details and more. In this photo released from the trailer. you can see stormtroopers firing and wookie prisoners in the background.

I can't think of a more fan-made battle scene than one between Vader and Maul. It'd seem like a desperate move on their part. In my opinion, bringing Maul back at all was a pretty desperate-for-fan-recognition move in general. Ashoka vs Vader wouldn't make sense in the chronology and Rex being a rebel would make even less sense, as he is a Clone with no free will of his own. There's no logical reason why he wouldn't have obeyed palpatine's orders during order 66.

you have your opinions. I have mine, I see no problems with my ideas. If they do not suit you that is ok. at least we can both look forward to the trailer coming this sunday :)

DeleteWhilest I am not confident that Maul would make a reappearance, I have to agree totaly on a Rex comeback. I mean look at the Battle of Saleucami, Rex let Cut Lawquane stay AWOL. When I was watching the episode itself, I knew this had to give some consequences to Rex' future.
DeleteMaul's return is definitely high on my wish list as well. How about Maul (as Inquisitor) and Vader (as Sith Lord) working together to hunt down and challenge a powerful Jedi Master? The conflict between the two as they are "forced" to work together would make for an awesome 3-part series. Who could that powerful Jedi Master be I wonder? :)
Delete-vader vs. ahsoka could definately fit chronologically. this series is based 5 years before EP IV, meaning that assuming she survived until that point, would be about 12-14 years older than when we last saw her.
Delete-its shown over the series that clones to develop at least a hint of free will, and since i very much doubt that stormtroopers continue to be clones up to a new hope (surely they started to enlist people? imperial academy?), i could see a prospect where rex is disgruntled with the empire...
-maul's reintroduction was cool but unnecessary, and to be honest, his continued existance kind of cheapens the ending of episode 1.

DeleteYeah they did start to enlist people in episode 4. It's stated upon entry to the meeting hall where vaders famous quote "I find your lack of faith disturbing" occurs. It's stated that they don't have to worry about Kamino any more and one of the guys question how the GE will continue and is told not to worry or something... My memories a little off but I'm pretty sure it's along those lines.
