May the 4th Be With You! Full Star Wars: Rebels Trailer!

Starring a small band of heroes -- Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper -- Star Wars Rebels is set in a time where the Empire rules through fear and shrouds the galaxy in darkness...

This trailer offers many new glimpses at sequences from the show, including the starship Ghost chased by TIE Fighters; young Ezra watching as a Star Destroyer looms overhead; Stormtroopers marching; a zero-g fight between our heroes and Imperials; and Kanan, a secret Jedi, assembling his lightsaber and preparing for battle. It ends, however, with an Imperial officer reporting to the Inquisitor -- the Empire's Jedi hunter, seen and heard here for the first time.
Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.

    1. Yeah woulda been nice to see stuff we haven't seen yet, but I guess we can't complain too much... a lot of star wars stuff coming out. More than I would have thought 4 years ago.

  3. Those McQuarrie homages are beautiful. The TIE Fighter designs, Chopper, the other ships, THE LIGHTSABER!

    1. I wonder if everybody would still like this trailer if someone had said that McQuarrie didn't actually do the designs but it was done by someone from the PT. Then everyone would be like "horrible! Horrible! Ruined my childhood! Worst thing since Jar Jar!"

    2. Not really. I don't like the prequels but I admit that the concept art and ship designs in those movies were very good.

  4. Rebels! as with the Clone Wars, is Cannon! and even know it is cartoon or if you like,
animated, I am very excited about the show because of the story telling. It's all about the story telling and filling in all the gaps. Every true star wars fan should be experience these shows, if you have missed out on them because of the fact that they are 'cartoon' Well! you have truly missed out then aye lol It is Cannon, it is Star Wars, get over it if you believe otherwise. Was it made for children? I am 49 and i absolutely loved the Clone Wars! Star Wars is Star Wars and have to say, the animation was pretty cool considering. What hooked me though, was the story telling and if i may be so bold as to say, The Story behind Episode V11 can and will actually be found through the entire Star Wars saga, one through to six, The Clone Wars and Rebels, all of which are 'CANNON' just saying. In rebels, we a sure to see Darth Vader hunting down the Jedi, perhaps Kenobi calls upon Anakin's outcast apprentice for help, being the closest to Skywalker through the clone wars, her demise could be
by Vader's hand although, after the murderous downfall of young-lings, it is yet to be
seen if Darth, personally takes the life force from a Jedi, it will be great to see more of Grand Moff Tarken and how the Clones evolve to Stormtroopers and Oh! more of the death star too of which of course is in construction, how Rebels evolve into the rebel Alliance and in all likely hood, the story could lead up to the events of stealing the stolen plans, Rebels is going to be a blast and i have no doubt, will contain secrets
    connecting to Episode V11

  5. Enough with the "Canon" thought police. People do not need any fans' approval to enjoy Star Wars or any aspect of it. Despite that, I will definitely be checking out this show.

  6. IMO turning on a lightsaber during this time is like commit a suicide by Darth Vader.

    1. Agreed.

Might as well carry a neon sign around your neck that reads: Jedi.

    2. I think that's the point, he uses it as a last resort. It said in his character bio that ops for a blaster most of the time.

  8. how typical.. shoe horn the derivative Disney schtick into star wars and suddenly you have a mandalorian, a jedi, a smuggler, and a random droid saving the galaxy... all in disney trademarked animation.

..and lets not forget that the mandalorian is female. new hotness .. and future princess for disney to exploit.

    i think i will pass.

    1. Yeah, how dare they include female characters. What's next, a black man?!

Did you not watch The Clone Wars?

    2. Just be glad they are including multiple women characters... something I can't say for the new cast of Episode VII.

    3. *Sigh* They still have more casting announcements to go, it's too early to be complaining about stuff like that.

    4. Great. A graffiti artist in a pink Boba Fett costume. This is looking less like Star Wars and more like a Cosplay costume competition.

  11. I'm in but i see too much color
Even the clone wars seems darker...
Now we have Ralph Mcquarrie, tie fighters, stromtroopers, the rebellion, OT spirit and so on and probably the childish tone will ruin it...

  12. WOW! That's cool! I want to watch it now! :)

BTW - methinks the Mandalorians will become even more important in the future . . .

  13. Really good, all the Ralph concept looks amazing, so looking forward to this!...

  14. It's Amazing! It's really, really cool!

  15. Dude, I'm already enjoying this series. The Imperials are awesome, the visual is great and the action is pretty cool. Just come soon!

  16. I still don't see the prominence of the Jedi. If they do include Obi Wan in action, this is really going to mess up the timeline more than the worst of the EU books.

    1. Maybe it won't show them in the same room with him.

    2. Well, just remember that now the only things that are canon are the movies and TCW. And there's nowhere in the movies that says that Obi-Wan stood all the time on Tatooine - despite being clear that it was his home during the period.

  17. It would be great to have Obi Wan in Rebels, it would make sense that he was, i couldn't imagine that he moved to Tatooine straight away, having dropped Luke off
into safe hands. His move to the home world probably came much later, as it became
clearer the Jedi were loosing their footing

    1. I don't know if that would make total sense. Obi-Wan says in A New Hope that he hadn't gone by the name of Obi-Wan since before Luke was born. I would assume that he changed his name in order to hide, although keeping his surname was still questionable.

So, if he's parading around in Rebels as Ben, he's blowing his cover.

  18. I have hardly watched Clone Wars,But I can truly say that Star Wars Rebels will be an amazing story to watch. I really like the battle with the stormtroopers in zero-gravity. a unique twist to the classic gun battles.

  20. Maybe Kanan's last stand is on Tattooine, where he meets Obi Wan and tells him that there is nobody else. He's seen every other known Jedi die. Little did Kanan know, the Inquisitor followed him to Tattooine. He returns to Vader's ship to inform Vader of what he found following orders that if he ever came across Kenobi he was not to engage but tell Vader, seeing as how he is probably looking over his offspring. Vader was about to depart for Tattooine, but wouldn't you know it, a rebel leader falls into his hands. He takes the rebel leader to the prison aboard the Death Star when all of a sudden he feels a presence he hasn't felt in a long time. He's not surprised Obi Wan is alive, but that he is on the ship. Then, well we know the rest.

    1. That doesn't follow the cannon. Vader believes both Padme' and his child to be dead at the end of Episode III

    2. You're right. But you can still take that part out and it makes sense.
