If You Zoom in on one of the figures it shows a Figure called  "Rebels Obi-Wan Kenobi," suggesting that the famed Jedi will be appearing in the new show.

He May even be in the trailer releasing tomorrow for May the 4th
I wouldn't count on it but you never know!

  1. Obi-Wan is my favorite Star Wars Character so I hope this is legit!
Of Course he will not be a main character but he could be involved with an episode or 2 each season...

    1. What about Ahsoka? Why did you put her in the preview picture??? I so wanna see her in Rebels!

    2. I found that Image online, it was the best fan made poster of obi wan in rebels.. but since the guy who headed the clone wars ( Dave Filoni) is making this new series i have no doubt in my mind ahsoka will show up after season 1.

    3. Naturally Obi Wan would return but not Ahsoka... sigh....

....Obi Wan was supposed to be living on Tatooine as a hermit watching over Luke. This is very clear in the films. Yet this is canon and the EU isn't?

    4. "Yet this is canon and the EU isn't?"

Judging from what I've seen so far, this show probably won't deserve to come anywhere close to canon, but that doesn't mean everything EU does.

    5. I agree he is suppose to be watching over Luke. I'm sure a 10 year old kid needs a lot of watching.

  2. AEHOOOOOOOOO. OBI-WAN IS BACK

  3. But... is not this going to screw everything up? Cause if he mets with other Jedi, or sensitive kid, Luke would not be the "only hope". Am I wrong?

    1. But it's safe to say they all die by the time of A New Hope and Luke is his last hope

    2. Humm, I don't think they'll do this.

    3. the preview trailers looked pretty violent. If they can kill stormtroopers in big fireball explosions, they can kill a few jedi. (Or maybe disney can find a way these characters can lose their force abilities.)

  4. I hope Leia is in this at some point

  5. Honest question, not trying to be condescending. Does anyone actually care about this show? its a cartoon, and i'm assuming most of the people on this site are adults. I'm asking because a lot of the articles recently have been about rebels

    1. Its Star Wars so of coarse we're going to watch it. And we're not really adults so much as big kids..

      Delete
    2. big kids, that's for sure, from frequently reading this message board, hahahaha.

I don't think Obi Wan should return. He was supposed to be HIDING.

    3. That's originally the same outlook I had towards the Clone Wars, but then I warmed up to it and actually found it fairly good.

Rebels is a bit harder for me though. I'm really finding it difficult to get past the pink boba fett grafitti artist character. It's just too silly.

    4. Uhhh, have you ever watched The Clone Wars? There's some pretty dark stuff in that series. It's certainly not your typical kids cartoons. It's for all ages

    5. I'm 21 and I love everything that is Star Wars. So I'm gonna watch it. At least at the beginning. And if it's not too corny or childish, I will continue watching it, as I did with the Clone Wars. The last 2 seasons of TCW were amazing, even from an adult point of view.

  6. I'm 46, and see this as just a fun looking show, yes it's aimed primarily at kids, but I'll still give it a watch when it airs ! I'm sure millions of Star Wars fans will CARE about this show !

Ok I'm super stoked Obi is going be in it but I wish he looked more like the one in the fan made pic above instead of young like in the toy version who agrees with me?
also we all know the original idea for clone wars was end at the beginning of episode 3 but that failed do you think this series will end with the beginning of episode 4?
    cuz that would be epic!
    kind of off topic but...
what I really want to see it an animated series or set of movies with the same or similar designs to the clone wars characters that are episodes 1-6 or 3-6 just animated who agrees with me?

  8. I'm really glad that there's some kind of connection between Clone Wars and Rebels. This will make Rebels more interesting for me.

  9. Are they going to bring him out of his self-imposed exile on Tattoine to have some inter-trilogy adventures after all? If his entire purpose now is to await the day Luke attains maturity and then train him, I wouldn't go too far in having him risk his life in the meantime. He would know that very much depends on him being there for Luke when the time comes.

  10. I'm just going to put this out there (not really 'Rebels' related), but there is no reason for them not to do a Clone wars/Rebels style CG show about Luke, Han, Leia and Chewy filling in the gap between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars 7... I mean is that not the obvious thing to do?! I hope we see that at some stage.

    1. omg you are so right! that would be awesome

    2. me too. That was what I expected before they announced Rebels. Hopefully they'll do something about that time period.

    3. I think if they do, they'll need to wait until after the new movie so they don't contradict anything that's mentioned in it... I'd say that's a major reason why they haven't, they'll need to know where the story is heading first. It goes without saying that they wouldn't need the original actors, they didn't use Hayden Christensen and Ewan Mcgregor for Clone Wars.

    4. I totally agree....I'm hoping Disney will do the DC/Marvel thing and release CGI or animated movies to fill in, expand and enhance the STAR WARS universe. Not to mention the DVD/Blu-ray sales would be worth the cost of doing it.

      Delete
    5. I would love that! I'm looking forward to it!!! An animated series that tells the story between6 e 7. Wow!
And what if it would be a CGI movie with photo-realistic characters like the one used in Tron Legacy? Tecnology has improved a lot in the last 5 years and still improves. The big 3 could do performance capture for the characters.

  11. Completely agree, was thinking the same exact thing the other day. I would the next animated series after Rebels would tell the tale of what happened after ROTJ

  12. The figure series is Saga Legends. There is a second Obi fig in there from TCW, and also Plo Koon.

    This headline is grossly misleading.

  13. Obi Wan being in Rebels makes absolutely no sense, unless an episode takes place near Mos Eisley spaceport.

  14. Here's an editorial entitled "How 'Star Wars' Ruined Sci-Fi":

I do not agree with him, but I thought some of you might be interested in reading it.

  15. Rebels! as with the Clone Wars, is Cannon! and even know it is cartoon or if you like,
animated, I am very excited about the show because of the story telling. It's all about the story telling and filling in all the gaps. Every true star wars fan, should be watching these shows too lol if you have missed out on them because of the fact that they are 'cartoon' Well! you have truly missed out then aye lol It is Cannon, it is Star Wars, get over it if you believe otherwise. Was it made for children? I am 49 and i absolutely loved the Clone Wars! Star Wars is Star Wars and have to say, the animation was pretty cool considering. What hooked me though, was the story telling and if i may be so bold as to say, The Story behind Episode V11 can and will actually be found through the entire Star Wars saga, one through to six, The Clone Wars and Rebels, all of which are 'CANNON' just saying.

    1. A cannon is a weapon. I believe the word you're looking for is CANON, with just one N.

    2. I believe you are correct, thank you soooo much

  16. Quite confusing looking at all these figures...can't see properly which ones are for the rebels show and which ar just releases of old characters

Just googled 'Hasbro Rebels' and found the image on this link...

    http://www.rebelscum.com/2014-Toy-Fair/Toy-Fair-2014-Hasbro-Star-Wars-Rebels-Saga-Legends/image3.asp

...looks like sidious and yoda in the rebels packaging (same storm trooper helmet backing)...but then in the bottom left looks like it says episode II...(even though I'd have thought they'd be more episode III characters.

As always the news leaves us confused and not really knowing anything :)

  18. The Obi-wan appearing thing isn't THAT difficult to achieve without affecting movie canon. It could be as simple as the crew of the Ghost visiting Tatooine for some reason, for all we know he might not even reveal himself as a Jedi, just offers to help them out with something

    ReplyDelete
  19. NOBODY AND NOTHING HAS SAID OR EVEN IMPLIED OBI WAN WAS IN REBELS. IF WE ARE TO GO BY THIS REPORT, THAN PLO KOON IS IN I TOO, RIGHT? NOPE.

  20. It would be great to have Obi Wan in Rebels, it would make sense that he was, i couldn't imagine that he moved to Tatooine straight away, after having drop Luke off
in safe hands. His move to the home world probably came much later, as it became
clearer the Jedi were loosing their footing

  21. The point is is that in the photo of the characters it specifically says REBELS OBI-WAN KENOBI. The Plo Koon picture does not. They also define another Obi-Wan figure with CW OBI-WAN KENOBI. They have deliberately made a point to distinguish between the two. The whole the two figures are labelled makes it certain that Obi-Wan will be making an appearance in Rebels.
