Another Look At Bearded Luke!

51 comments:

  1. Hamill looks like he just walked in off the street, LOL!

On top of that, he looks more Jedi like than Hayden did in full wardrobe!

  2. ready for an "obi wan-type" role :) REALLY LUKEing goood , so i guess the other picture from yesterday was recent

  3. I hope he remembers how to use that thing!

  4. Hamill's face looks in tone with an old and more mature Luke Skywalker. But he has to learn all over again how to use the lightsaber. His hands are taking it in such amateurally way.

    1. It's just a publicity photo, for crying out loud. He's wearing a plaid shirt. I don't think he's meaning it to look real.

    2. Lol they probably just gave him a lightsaber 3 seconds before. The mickey mouse guy is holding it even worse. Chill.

    3. Watch those ears, Mickey! <=-O

    4. Just curious, but are you a grown man who owns a plastic lightsaber and if so, do you practice your moves on the neighborhood kids or other childish men? I'm just pullin' yer tit but lighten up. It's a publicity photo with Mickey Mouse. Once he puts that black glove back on it'll all come back to him.

    5. At least he's not pointing it directly at his face.

  5. That face has seen a lot. And I mean that in a good way. Think about it... the restoration of the Republic AND the construction of the Jedi Order. Look at what the presidency did to Bush and Obama over 8 years. This guy had to deal with 30+ years of it.

If anything, it makes sense that good ol Master Skywalker looks a little world weary. Mark Hamill is going to be insane in this role and this picture proves it. It's just a shame he's not holding his green saber. Photoshop anyone?

  6. I'm strangely proud of Mark Hamill! Seeing him more fit is like seeing a familiar land mark as we return home from a long journey. He now has an opportunity that few will ever have: the opportunity to drastically change the story of his professional life using the added perspective of age. Imagine if Hamill returned to the screen, this time, having recieved intensive acting instruction from the best teachers in the world. I'm rooting for him and his improved fitness shows that he cares.

  7. Yea. This idea of a "obi-wan type" Luke Skywalker was really a good one. I hope it to b like that in the movie. An ancient Jedi master in his last years, with a wide knowledge and a overwhelming power over the Force. I just hope as well that they won´t make a Badass fighting Luke Skywalker, it would be strange if he shows up in the movie jumping like Yoda in the prequels.

    1. Nah. He'll only need to wave his hand or twitch a finger and flight's over!

  10. omg I just died a little. eeeee someone needs to photoshop some robes onto this picture. Little dissapointed the lightsaber isn't green. I would cry some serious nerd tears if he takes out that green return of the jedi lightsaber

  11. Have to give him a ton of credit, he does look pretty fit for his age. You go Luke!!!

  13. Mark will be great in Episode 7... Make no mistake. I think he may even outshine Harrison this time around...

    1. agree 100% Mark will be incredible in Episode 7.

    2. I think Mark will do great. Carrie has a lot of potential. She can be a damn good actress, she just needs good direction so hopefully JJ is hands on. Harrison on the other hand.. I'm half expecting a disaster if i'm honest.

    3. No doubt Harrison will mumble his way through the script and look bored while doing it. Don't get me wrong, I think Harrison is one of the all time greats no question but quite often he looks like he can't be arsed.

    1. I like your style. Keeping those expectations really low means you won't be disappointed! I hope Chewbacca growls and R2D2 beeps.

    2. I hope the Falcon doesn't work at some point.

    3. Well don't be so sure. Unfortunately there is definitely a possibility that Luke won't be involved in a lightsaber fight. Lets not forget that Luke isn't the last of the Jedi anymore like old-ben was in epiosde 4. Old-ben was the only Jedi in episode 4 so naturally he had the responsibility of having the lightsaber fight. But in epiosde vii Luke will have probably trained a group of Jedi, so they will presumably do all the fighting and Luke may not be involved. Luke may not be like Old-ben like everyone thinks. He may be more like Yoda in Empire where he trains them and says wise stuff rather than getting involved. If the rumors about Harrison being the one who is much more involved, then this may be true.

  16. I can't imagine Luke will have any use for his light sabre in Episode 7.... ahem Even if they did plan to have Luke brandishing his weapon in the film I bet the producers are having second thoughts judging by the shoddy way he is holding it in the picture. Ha ha No seriously...
Look. Mark will be just fine when it comes to the film...he will hold it like a bad-ass, just wait and see. He isn't going to ruin Episode 7... just calm down!!! Loving the beard...

It just dilutes & commodotizes everything, y'know?

    2. If you ever ran into him at the opera, Palpatine would put it like this: "Aggressive merchandizing is a pathway to many billions of dollars that SOME consider to be ... in bad taste."

  18. So happy to have Mark Hamill back as Luke. Hoping he gets a nice payday from this and can have Harrison Ford's stylist hook him up with proper clothes. ;-)

  19. With regard to how he's holding the light saber- go look at pics of him holding one from the OT- its the same. The fighting styles are (obviously) different between the 2 trilogies. I seem to recall an interview with Lucas many years ago where he said he wanted the light sabers to be heavy- like large mid-evil swords during the OT. Thus, the different grip and position on the handle.

    1. Mid-evil?! Uhm ... you mean "medieval"?

    2. Hahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahaha...mid-evil...hahahaha.

    3. "mid-evil" for the OT, "low-evil" for the PT and "full-evil" for the ST. Yep, makes perfect sense.

  20. Kind of weird he didn't wear a costume. Looks like normal street clothes. Glad he lost the weight.

    1. Um, maybe Mark's attire looks like "normal street clothes" because that's exactly what he's wearing?

  21. He is not holding the lightsabre 'wrong'. but very correct, the ignition switch in the OT 'sabres is mid handle so imagine he just drew it with his right hand...

  22. 2 glowing phallic symbols and 1 Mickey. Who says SW isn't sexist!

  23. He looks great, i just hope they give him a bad butt wig-

  24. Who would have thought we would ever see this day? I just hope Harrison isn't suddenly more important than Mark in SW now- if he is, they have made a mistake, superstar or not. Luke was always the guy in SW.

  25. The ST will be Mr Hamill's swan song, so he will give it all he's got! The fact that he lost weight for the role shows he is serious. At least he likes his character, unlike Harrison who renounces his.

  26. I only wish the fights are more realistic brawl like and not silly choreographed fake fights. let's face it. No matter how skilled you are, a fight is a fight.

  28. Sorry guys.. just can't see Mr Hamill NOT using his lightsaber..i hope we see him training the younglings at some point, would be good to see him win them over too! what do people think of Ep 7? do you really believe the big three will stay at home while the kids go out to play? really? This guy's lost alot of weight for Ep 7 and I commend him for it, DEF looks the part and I can't WAIT to see him on the big screen! less somersaults and more swordplay methinks!
