Support "Standing in the Stars: The Peter Mayhew Story".

Actor Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca in the Original Trilogy needs you! There is a Kickstarter campaign for a documentary about his upcoming dual knee replacement. Everyone can help...

When someone passes Peter Mayhew on the street, they do a double-take. It could be because he stands a head taller than the crowd at 7’3”, or it could be because they recognize him as the man behind the mask of Chewbacca in the Star Wars films. Peter was born with a condition called Giantism, which brought him both his astounding size and his famous role, but carries with it some serious health concerns.
Over the years, it has become more and more difficult for Peter to stand upright and walk, requiring the use of a cane or a wheelchair.  He and his family are determined to get him back on his own two feet.  His doctors came up with a solution: an intense series of surgeries that would replace his knees and give him the potential to walk unassisted.

  1. Contact George Lucas! I'm sure he'll give you the cash. All the best Peter I wish you well

  2. Yeah.
GL has what this procedure would cost in his couch cushions.
Why can't he quietly & privately help Peter out?
    Cheap bastard ....

  3. With the original cast rumoured to return in Episode 7, I hope this will include Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca once again, If he is up to it of course.
I hope Peter gets his knees repaired very soon and that he makes a full recovery in time for the next Star Wars film.

  6. If Disney are reuniting the original cast for Episode 7, then that should include Peter Mayhew as well.
If this is the case then I feel it should be Disney that should do the right thing and pay all the cost for Peter's operation in time for his return for Episode 7.

  7. I find it hard to believe that, being that Mayhew was in 4 star wars films he dosn't have the money to pay for the operation himself? What does George Lucas pay his actors; monopoly money? that being said good luck Peter, you are a hero to us all and a gentle soul, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I live in Glen rose Texas and I met Peter when he lived in granbury he is a very nice man if I had the money I would give it to him but all I have is would so I'm giving them to you so best would Peter you arrrrrrrrrrrrr. The best. David. A. Hankins

their clientele are super happy with the work they do. Even changing a
tire can be dangerous if you are not focused.
