Kathleen Kennedy, George Lucas and Daniel Day Lewis Had a Meeting?

daniel day lewis

OK, this is just a rumor. It really sounds incredible, but oh boy... if this is true...

The latest rumor coming from Twitter. According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe:
I know it's just one post but this really deserves a separate article even if there is a slightest chance to see Daniel in Star Wars.

Still I think it's fare to post one recent reaction to all Latino Review's rumors that have been pouring the web in the last few weeks.

From Meghan O'Keefe:
Okay. It’s time to unleash insider knowledge.
The Latino Review is so despised amongst high ranking producers that they let their minions unleash batshit crazy rumors to the Latino Review for kicks. Oh, and I have it on good authority that one big nerd studio hates this site so much that should a big story actually leak to them, the studio head purposely kills whatever the casting call or plot leak was and has his team go for Plan B. To FUCK with Latino Review.
They can be on sometimes, but only if the film studio doesn’t change their mind or or if the film studio isn’t fucking with them.
Now, they can be right. So, this could be true. But much like a tarot reading, it could change tomorrow.
So…just know that when you read or reblog Latino Review? Like they do have spies…but their spies are up against more than the usual ones. I’m totally going to read their scoop…but with THE BIGGEST GRAIN OF SALT. As should you.
Whatever people say Latino Review scored some pretty impressive scoops regarding the Marvel's movie universe.
You should take this as you like. Still it's better than nothing. And rumors and speculations always make the time past quicker. :)

  1. If t were true I feel like it should be a very serious take on the franchise. Not that the adventure feel needs to die off but have it simply be mature storytelling. No Jar Jars or ham fisted comedy. Let the humor come naturally...

However I can't see Daniel ever lowering himself to this unless it really is an impressive script that transcends the troupes normally associated with Star Wars.

Or it's a cash in and he wants his kids to see it. If that's the case I'm heartbroken already.

  2. This would be fine enough I guess.

But am I the only one that isn't impressed with Daniel Day Lewis' acting? It just seems to me that he overacts in everything he's in.

    1. Yes, you are the only one. Must be lonely.

    2. ^Actually jackass, he's not the only one who isn't impressed with Lewis' acting.

It must be lonely inside your empty head.

    3. No, you're not the only one. I'm not impressed with anything he's done. More than that, I would be VERY disappointed if he were to be anywhere near Star Wars.

  3. Remember when they kept on bombing and bombing after every scoop? Yeah, that was the point when the studios unleashed fake scoops to them.

It seems like they have found new, more reliable spies, but yeah always take it all with a grain of salt. However they were right about Bradley Cooper with Guardians; and the Flash casting for Arrow. They're resourceful enough that you may eat crow if you're overly dismissive.

  4. I would take latino review seriously if someone, ANYONE official would confirm or deny these scoosp. This entire summer has been like waiting in the lobby before getting a tooth pulled.

    1. The Academy tends to like over-actors too.

  6. As long as they give him a part worth playing. Liam Neeson and Samuel L Jackson are fine actors, but to me they didn't work in SW.

    1. I sorta agree with ya there... back when TPM came out, I wasn't so sure, but now I do think Liam Neeson IS Qui-Gonn, and Qui-Gonn was actually kind of a cool character... I think Mace Windu was, too, but unfortunately I only ever just saw Samuel L. Jackson playing a Jedi Master...

    2. Liam did ok but because of Lucas's input, Sammy J phoned it in. Lucas is also the only person who could make Natalie Portman terrible. So SO happy Lucas is out.

  7. Everyone seems to be ignoring the biggest point in this.
    And that is ....?
This alleged meeting took place between, Kennedy, Day-Lewis & GEORGE LUCAS.
Not that imbecile Abrams, but the Big Man himself!
That means he has a VERY active part in creating Star Wars and HAS NOT
been relegated to a perpheral "advisory consultant" role like everybody said he was.
    FUCK THEM.
Star Wars IS George Lucas, vice versa & he will always remain so.

    1. lol Not sure who you're mad at. I'd just go with this entire rumor being just that. It doesn't really make any sense.

Lewis having any interest for one... and two... exactly what you pointed out. Lucas has been for all intents and purposes put to the side. So why would he even be there unless someone thought he'd help sell it to Lewis.

All of which I doubt. Still... Love Lewis.

    2. I agree wholeheartedly! I may be the only one to say this, but Star Trek 1 & 2 were crap for me. I greatly enjoyed the Prequels. Everything JJ touches is nonsensical, to the very predictable thriller Super Eight (E.T. meets Aliens) to the plot catastrophe that was Lost. I have very low hopes for VII.

    4. you Are aware that GL is the worst thing to happen to SW since episode 4, right? He is a TERRIBLE writer, TERRIBLE director and TERRIBLE consultant. He came up with the idea for it and should have left it to actual filmmakers after that. Any true SW fanboy knows how bad Lucas is at plot lines, details and character development. DDL would give immediate credibility to the project and help to sign other fine actors. After Lucas' laughable attempt at 1,2 & 3 (he didnt know when to say "cut"), the franchise needs to be re-envisioned (JJ is an idea machine) and revamped into something we can once again be proud of showing to our children.

  8. He would be awesome as the main bad guy.

  9. Lucas isn't casting people for Star Wars movie's...He has NO say, in who Abrams picks. If he is talking to this guy about a movie...it is probably one of the movies George is making now that is NON Star Wars related..

  10. ^^^^^ George is not casting for Star Wars movies. jesus...people will bite at any info they read on the internet without using common sense. This website is starting to get LAME..with all of these bogus rumours. It is starting to become a tabloid site. next thing you know this site will start posting photo's of George in a thong grazing on a beach.

    1. Starting to get lame? It's only been around a few months? What is with you people getting anger over the rumormill? If you notice most of this info comes from other "news" sites.

No one ever once claimed these are facts. Except for maybe some of the people in the articles :P Chill out... sit back and be glad there is something to read. Be it speculation or confirmed fact. Geez.

  11. This is very interesting being that Lewis's likeness was used in early concept art for Phantom Menace in that he would play a Jedi either Obi wan or Qui Gon Jinn. Check out the Art of Star Wars episode 1 the phantom menace. more than one of the conceptual designers wanted him in a role and in a black Jedi night outfit based on Luke's outfit in Return of the Jedi. Lewis would be awesome for this film, it would be to me comparable to casting an Alec, Liam, Cushing, or Lee
