Update! Rumor: Jason Flemyng and Alex Russell Also Auditioned for Star Wars: Episode 7?

star wars

With all the open auditions happening in the US and the UK, it's been a while since we've heard some Episode 7 casting rumors. The latest additions are 47 year old British actor Jason Flemyng and Australian actor Alex Russell...

Flemyng posted the following photo on Instagram suggesting he’s been offered a part – or is in the least, auditioning – for a role in the J.J Abrams directed movie.

Take this with huge grain of salt. Just have in mind the image Justin Bieber posted few months ago with the Superman/Batman script. Just saying...
Also remember when Flemyng kinda "confirmed" that Matthew Vaughn is directing Episode 7: Is Matthew Vaughn Set for Episode 7?
So keep that in mind.

Also according to the same source (moviehole):

We’ve also got solid word that Michael B.Jordan isn’t the only “Chronicle” star up for a role in the movie; Jordan’s co-star, Australian actor Alex Russell, has also auditioned for the movie. One can only assume Russell, whose other credits include “Carrie” and “Wasted on the Young”, is up for one of the film’s new young hero parts.

As Saoirse Ronan said everyone is auditioning for Star Wars so there might be some truth in this report after all. :)

Update!

Some people made a good point pointing out that Flemyng's picture with the page matches the color of the supposed Episode 7 script posted by Bad Robot few months ago.

Still not buying it... :)

  1. Okay I realy like the idea of bringing Jason Flemyng into the star wars universe maybe as a sith or maybe a Solo (even Han Solo)

  2. Haha Han Solo, with a cockney accent perhaps? Next we'll be told that Alan Ford is voicing Darth Vader...

  3. Jason Flemyng is a great actor, it would be good to have him on board. I don't know who the other guy is however.

  4. If Flemyng is really on Ep7, Tweeting a photo of the script is a bone-headed move. Abrams/Lucasfilm won't be happy with him.

  5. Who honestly gives a shit about casting "rumors"? I heard Tiger Woods was going to be the next C-3PO.

  6. If that photo shows genuine pages from the SW 7 script, they look a helluva lot more like script sides for an audition than the full script.

You can even see the crease across the upper left hand corner where the stapled pages have been turned, as well as the creases where the whole thing has been folded into quarters at some point.

I'd imagine that what we're looking at here is maybe a few script pages, rather than an entire script. Probably safe to assume that Flemyng could be prepping for a callback.

  7. I tried zooming in on the script... One character's name is John... The only line I can read is a direction note: "As John goes through his bag......the imagined wound on his hand(s)" ... I can make out other words here and there but that's it... I replaced the red so it's easier on the eyes and blew it up... http://s21.postimg.org/xluca8ydj/script.jpg

  8. A lot of the time, the scene you try out for is not in the movie, the casting script is for trial only, with generic names and action amd has no actual barring on the part one is trying to get, no spoilers kind of thing, especially for something as big as Star Wars...

  9. That's what I'd assume this is. I think what's got people thinking that it might be something more than just a dummy scene is the fact that it does appear to be on the same paper as in the photo of the pile of Bad Robot scripts purported to be SW 7.

Plus, the fact that it's got Flemyng's name stamped across it gives the impression that it's more than just a first-level audition too.

But I'm with you. I don't think they'd risk leaking actual script pages this way. (Or even outdated script pages from an earlier draft.)

  10. "In the comments, Flemyng later clarified that he hasn’t actually landed the role, but he is merely auditioning at this point." ooo I wonder which role. All this behind the scenes stuff is so annoyingly exciting!

  11. It's probably just a script for a horror film called RED HARVEST: HORROR BEYOND IMAGINATION.
